We always go to the Papa Murphys located on Lakeway in Bellingham, because we consider the pizzas to be pretty much perfection for this type of establishment. We usually get our favorite, pepperoni & pineapple with extra sauce (sooo thick and tasty😄!). Watching them make it, with pepperoni literally overlapping, topped with copious amounts of cheese, plus a bit more pepperoni and a sprinkling of cheese, makes my mouth water. However, I had the misfortune of stopping by the James Street store after shopping at Trader Joes, and the entire experience has left me doubting that we will ever go back - to ANY location. Everything was fine, until I placed my order. The girl was apparently new, as she could barely work the register without hollering for help, and she certainly has a listening disorder. I clearly said that I'd like a deep dish pepperoni & pineapple with extra sauce. What I was presented with was a Canadian Bacon & pineapple. When I said that I had ordered a pepperoni & pineapple, the guy got defensive and said, "No, you ordered Canadian Bacon & pineapple" and looked to the girl who had taken my order, who said, "I heard you say Canadian Bacon..." which was incorrect not to mention the fact that Canadian Bacon clearly sounds a lot different than pepperoni. Then the guy holding the erroneous pizza mumbled, "well...I guess we'll have to make it over..." and conferred with another co-worker (possibly the manager?) who mumbled and started taking off the meat and then thought better of it and disappeared into the back room. I tried not to think of all of the stories one hears about cooks who get mad about remaking an order and subsequently spit in it, etc. 20 (TWENTY) minutes later, she came out with my pizza, and I was never so happy to get of a place that, up until then, had always been a pleasant and professional place of business. Short story long......We baked the pizza (which I noticed did not have any discernable slices of pepperoni, let alone more than 7 chunks od pineapple), and then...disaster. It didn't even taste like pepperoni (and our efforts to dissect and hunt for pepperoni was impossible), and there was barely any sauce (which I paid extra for). Like I said, prior to this we only had rave reviews for Papa Murphys, based on all of our experiences at the Lakeway location. Now I am wondering why there isn't more quality control? I run my own business and take pride in the fact that I make sure every single person who works for me delivers a consistent, quality product. Maybe someone in charge - someone who actually takes pride in the product - needs to drop in every once in a while to the James Street location to test the product. For now, we are...
Read moreSo this review isn't so much about the restaurant as it is the manager. I've been to the store before and have had trouble with him being quite condescending to me. Other than his condescending nature though, the twenty some year old manager somehow gets invited to a small get together at my house with all of my friends, who are all college aged. He tried to pick a fight with one of my friends, attempted to smash one of the windows on my house with a metal pipe, and all while throwing up "gang" signs whilst proclaiming "We out here." I found his lack of civility very immature and furthermore I'll never willingly go to his poorly managed...
Read moreIzzy and Tilie are literally the best employees I’ve ever met at a Papa Murphy’s location hands down. They deserve a pay raise of at least $2.89……actually they deserve a $3.00 raise and weekends off.
Other than that I would love to suggest that you guys step up your awesomeness by putting your massive lobby to better use……my suggestions: create an epic living room environment with couches and video games OR you build a stage, throw out some tables and chairs and have open mic nights OR my personal favorite idea, turn your lobby into a...
