I was so excited to see a bakery open in my neighborhood this year. As a new business in town, I had to check it out. I have since been back many times.
I like that I can buy one cookie, one slice of cake, one thing at a time (or of course a whole cake or pie if ever needed). I like trying a variety or sharing bites with my BF.
My very favorite thing there is something I had never heard of before - the fruity pebbles "rice crispy" treat. Next on my list is the chocolate crinkle cookie.
My biggest surprise though was even better. My BF tags along with me since I like going, but he isn't into sweets. I bought a beautiful slice of strawberry cake, I think they call it the strawberry cheesecake because that might be the frosting (?), but he LOVED it when he tried a bite and couldn't stop eating it which never happens. He always skips desert. It wasn't too sweet for him, so this might be a nice option for those who don't like things too sweet.
The only problem I have at times is accessing my favorites because I work before/after their open and close hours except Sundays. At first, I'd swing by with less than an hour to spare. As one would suspect from a popular bakery, they were close to selling out of their daily baked goods. I still was able to choose something nice, but usually missed out on my favorites UNTIL a post on Facebook announcing the fruity pebbles rice crispy treats were made for the day. I commented on their post about how much I loved them but they were always sold out & they replied that they would hold what I wanted until I came to pick up that evening! I wasn't expecting that and I was in and out that night with my favorites.
I have also tried their ice cream and enjoyed it. I really like the ambiance there as well as the outdoor seating with the water fountain and all of the flowers and flower baskets. I'll most likely skip the ice cream during the fall/winter/spring since I'm always cold, but I love having the option in the summertime.
I know that they have a small, regular food menu too, but I haven't tried that yet because of my work hours. It seems like a nice spot for...

I’ve never been a fan of cake. Occasionally, I might have a craving for a mini cupcake, but my dislike for cake has persisted since childhood, and I’m now in my 30s. (My own wedding didn't even have any cake, because I despise it so much!) Recently, after enduring a particularly intense sweet tooth for chocolate that just wouldn’t quit, I splurged on about $40 worth of their bars... and let me tell you, they are absolutely incredible—an understatement, to say the least.
After indulging in their bars, I felt compelled to explore their cakes. With their innovative flavor combinations, luxurious mousses, and multiple layers of taste in each slice, I knew I had to give them a shot. This was back in January 2025. Now, every Tuesday, I make it a point to visit the bakery and treat myself to two slices of cake for the week.
The service is exceptional. The staff is warm and welcoming; it feels like stepping into my aunt’s home, where she’s excitedly sharing the delightful treats she’s been crafting in the kitchen. (Just to clarify, I don’t actually have a baking aunt; it’s simply that kind of inviting atmosphere.)
IN COMPARISON TO OTHER BAKERIES IN TOWN
-Pure Bliss Desserts: Slice of Heaven offers a superior taste experience, striking the perfect balance without being overly sweet, all while providing better pricing. While I have been a loyal customer of Pure Bliss for five years and truly enjoy their products, I have now made the switch to Slice of Heaven and no longer choose Pure Bliss.
-Bellewood Acres: The pies at Slice of Heaven are truly a cut above the rest, bursting with rich flavors and a satisfying heartiness that justifies their price. In contrast, Bellewood's offerings resemble the bland, mass-produced pizzas you might find at a chain like Domino's, lacking the unique quality and care that Slice of Heaven delivers.
-Icing On the Cake (IOTC): The cakes at Slice of Heaven are exceptional, but especially compared to IOTC. IOTC's cakes are dry, poor quality, and are unreliable. Slice of Heaven's are moist, superb quality, and...
Read moreI was so excited to see a bakery with excellent reviews open up in Bellingham as I feel this has been missing from the food scene the last decade I've lived here. I really wanted to love this bakery, but wound up sorely disappointed instead (I took two bites of each then tossed them in the bin). The service was great, but the baked goods fell short-- both items I tried were cloyingly sweet and poor quality. The items we saw seemed like they were pulled straight from TikTok or Pinterest by an amateur baker trying to make it a profession. The prices were high for the serving size as well as the quality. I will not return, it is not worth the money or the calories, since I can make better at home.

I did order a lemon bar and, unfortunately, while it had a tangy flavor from the lemon it was still overly sweet (not at all tart or in anyway balanced) and was poor quality. The lemon bar tasted like it contained store bought processed lemon product of some kind, perhaps lemon pie filling (?) and had a oddly high crust to filling ratio leaving it feeling quite 'bready' for a lemon bar. Also, the apple caramel bar was not actually what I ordered (raspberry was), but it was what I received. That said, "loaded with caramel" or not, no dessert should be cloyingly sweet. You can still make rich/decadent desserts that are not sickly sweet (by incorporating sweet/tart or sweet/salty flavor combinations in a dessert, reducing the sugar in the recipe, or modifying recipes to include ingredients that mellow the taste of the sugary components thereby creating more balanced flavor profiles. The chosen technique depends on the recipe in...
