Tacos El Tepozteco - Mexican Food Truck — Restaurant in Bellingham

It is absolutely insane that something like this happened, I can't believe I need to write a review, but I want to caution others so they don't need to deal with the same thing I did today. Let me set the stage.

I am going to take my lunch at 1:15 PM - 1:45 PM; I check online and see that the restaurant is open from 11:30 AM - 7:30 PM. I place my online order at 1:00 PM, and everything goes through fine. it said the order should be ready around 1:15 PM, with nothing indicating that anything would be wrong. 17 dollars spent, confirmation email received.

I arrive at 1:17 PM, ready to pick up my tacos for lunch, and I see that the main window is closed and locked. Nobody is in the truck. I knocked on the window and gave them a call, but there was no response. I walk over to the food truck next to them to ask if they stepped out real quick or something. That food truck worker tells me they won't be in until around 3:00 PM today, two hours later.

So not only am I out 17 dollars, but I also have absolutely no food for my lunch, I have wasted more than half of my 30 minutes, and if I want to get the expensive tacos that I paid for, I would need to come back in several hours.

It is unacceptable to have online ordering open while your store is closed and show no indication of a delayed pickup time or even just a note saying that you are closed right now. It takes one click to turn off online ordering. This is absolutely not the way to run a business; I don't know if they were trying to steal money by keeping their orders open for four hours before they open and just hoping that people give up pursuing refunds or if they just forgot, but no matter what, this is messed up. I am expecting to get a full refund on my purchase. I will also never be returning to this food truck, and I will be letting my coworkers and friends know to do the same. It's unfortunate because this is one of the only places near my work that sells quesabirria tacos, but I will not give my money to a business that has such little regard for their customers and doesn't even update their hours or close their online ordering when they are four hours late to open. Ridiculous.

Edit: The restaurant took steps to fix this and refund me so I will be updating my review to better reflect that. Thank you for reaching out to me to fix it, I appreciate your communication. For anybody reading this review, maybe call the restaurant to make sure they are open or just order when you arrive, I wouldn't fully trust the online ordering system right now. I appreciate them taking steps to fix this though and it has restored my faith in their restaurant, I will most likely be returning and just ordering over the phone in the future to avoid this...

Placed an order through DoorDash and they didn’t even confirm it after 30 minutes. Not sure if they just didn’t know how or were too lazy to check for orders. I pulled up and they asked for my order, told me it would take 5 minutes, that I could wait in my car, and gave me a pager. 20 minutes later pager didn’t go off— I was in the parking lot and the male worker comes up to my car and ignorantly says “can you come get your order?” I had no idea it was even ready since the pager never went off. When I came to the truck the woman at the window also rudely said “why didn’t you come, we said 5 minutes,” to which I responded that the pager never went off. She began arguing with me complaining that I was too far and couldn’t sit in my car (in THEIR parking lot), and that I should have just come to the truck. I tried to take my food from the window and she snatched it out of my hands so I cancelled my order right then and there via the app since it was never confirmed through DoorDash anyways. Will NEVER go back. Horrible service, trashy, overpriced,...

I'm on a personal adventure that I call my, "Chippin' Away Tour." Where I order nachos whenever they're offered and I rate them. These are solely based on my personal likes/dislikes.

Summary Very very generic. Nothing special about these nachos to make them stand out. They weren't horrible but had nothing that made them unique. $13 isn't the worst price but considering El Suenito was $14 without protein really makes these nachos look bad. It came with a protein, but that didn't make or break them. The chip to topping ratio was pretty even since I finished everything at once. There was quite a bit of grease left over after I had all the chips and toppings.
