If you struggle with social anxiety or are an author, this is probably not the coffee shop for you. I adore Woods Coffee, always have, but some locations are better than others.
I've been trying to work at cafƩs since my home life has become a bit distracting (See: Procrastination). This was my second place to try, since my first option was pretty full.
In the first ten minutes, I was pestered by a barista on if I was planning on ordering something, because I would have to if I wanted to stay. This is just incredibly rude, and for someone with a bit of social nerves, I felt like leaving immediately. I understand Railroad is addled by homeless and some folks will come in without ordering to just siphon the Wi-Fi. But, I'd like to believe most of us have manners and common sense. I needed time to set up my Bluetooth and connection, because technology likes to give me a hard time, and I wasn't going to order if I had to end up leaving. I wasn't even using the Wi-Fi, either... All I wanted was a nice spot to sit down and not be bothered.
Aside from that, the staff are clearly young and a bit energetic. The ambience was crowded, rambunctious, and not supportive for focusing. I'm sure it would be great if you were designing or doing tedious, mindless work, but when it comes to creative literature, boy, was it a struggle.
Overall, not a big deal. I'm certainly not opposed to visiting again. Wood's Coffee has the best tasting beans in the area, after all. But I figured this was worth mentioning in a review for those in my field of work, or for those who have certain...

They offer all the typical coffees as well as pastries and sandwiches. The food is already prepared and reheated (good but not great) and the coffee was prepared exactly as ordered. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and provided fast service. There is paid street parking and it could be hard to find during peak times or during the Saturday Farmers Market just down the street. I highly recommend Woods Coffee if you are downtown and want consistently good coffee. Outdoor seating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuch a cute little cafe! Need a place to stop and work as we were driving through Bellingham, and I'm glad we chose this one.
Staff was kind, space was cute, lets of tables and places to sit and work.
Most importantly, lets talk coffee. My favorite drink is a caramel latte, but I'm pretty particular about my caramel syrup. I really like Monin, but all other brands and most homepage syrups aren't my favorite. It's either too think or too fake. I was hesitant to get this go-to drink, when they said they made their own syrup, but i'm happy I did. It was delicious!
I would...
