I did take out through Caviar with this restaurant. I came in just wanting to get in and get out with my food. I believe it is the store owner as she said "My store"... I was very flabbergasted with her. When I told her my order and asked to add 2 drinks, she put my food back down behind her, basically holding it hostage the entire time she was rudely, and passive aggressively telling me I shouldn't order through Caviar or Door Dash because it takes profit out of her business. I understand that totally.. I support small businesses and I would have had no problem going directly through her website the next time if she had explained it nicely with some patience and understanding in her attitude towards me. I took my phone and walked her through what I did to order and I don't think she has very good English because when I showed her the restaurant website, she said "no, no not that one" but when my boyfriend showed her the same exact thing she said "yes".. This all started because I told her there is no drink options on the online ordering.. she basically used it as an excuse too lie to me and say her website has it, which it doesn't, I checked. Not only was she being greedy about money, but she had no customer service skills whatsoever. I paid $61 for an order of 2 people, added 2 drinks for another $4 in-store. When I had walked in and waited.. I saw a food order of almost $138 dollars before me. Her business is obviously not hurting THAT bad for her to act like this towards me. She also seems to not realize how the online ordering system works.. she is responsible for it being up on google when the restaurant is searched up.
Great food, but TERRIBLE store owner! My 2nd visit before this one was awesome. The male server was very cool and communicative with me and my boyfriend. Do not order through Door Dash if you don't want the store owner barking at you for it.
Edit: I have learned through Bellingham Reddit I am not the only one with experiencing the owner being rude to them. I hope they will reflect and learn how to be more polite...
Read moreI'm not Asian. I really enjoyed it over all. It was perfectly clean and we did not get food poisoning (neither did the other commenter, I should mention, since that takes 24 hours to develop). I really hated the lighting, though. Cold colored LEDs meant a harsh ambiance.
I loved the food. Started with the pork gyoza which were delicious. I ate them embarrassingly quickly. I had the chicken ramen and it was like everything you want Top Ramen to be but never is (which is what the cook/server said he was going for). It was pretty spicy, which I wasn't expecting, but I didn't mind one bit. My dining partner had the bulgogi which was also amazing. An excellent combo of sweet and salty. It came with interesting purple-ish rice. Also very tasty and unique. I liked the broccoli garnish a lot; didn't try the others. It was expensive (ramen was $17 and bulgogi might have been $20), but not much isn't nowadays. I left satisfied.
I should say, it took quite a long time, but I wasn't in a hurry. Our server (who is also sometimes the cook, and the host, and the bartender) was very nice. A man of few words, but polite and humble. It was quite busy when we went on a Saturday night and they were understaffed by some measures, but from a European perspective, it was to be expected. I'd rather wait extra long for something delicious than the inverse. I look forward to my...
Read moreWe donât live in Bellingham but stayed again at the Leo Hotel, next door to YunGaNe Restaurant.
We returned last night, looking forward to a repeat of last yearâs great experience.
We ordered Soondubu Seafood with Vegetables and Stonepot Bulgogi Bibimbap with Beef. The Bibimbap was delicious.
But the Soondubu had far too much chilli: it was actually inedible (and normally I really love hot food & hot sauce.)
The odd thing? The menu had âfireâ đ„ emojis for the 3 other Soondubu choices, but not the Seafood Soondubu. I chose that one because my girlfriend cannot eat hot and spicy food
There was a lot of soft tofu in the dish, but hardly any seafood.
We told the waitress something was seriously amiss, but no attempt was made to redo the dish or remove it from the bill.
After that, it seemed that we were being hurried out of the restaurant even though we still had half a pitcher of beer and it wasnât that busy.
Last Yearâs Review: We came in early, for our first visit. Our server recommended Bulgogi Ribeye Beef and Chicken Bibimbap loaded with perfectly-seasoned, beautifully-flavoured shiitake mushrooms. Dinner came with a quartet of Korean condiments like Kim Chi,...
