What a great little local burger dive! The sign on the window says "best burger in town" and I bet it's right! Everything was made to order and just the way we asked for it. The staff was friendly and busy. The soda fountain was Dr. Pepper and even had RC cola which you don't see very often! The kids loved their burger and corn dog. My husband devoured his double cheeseburger and I got a single patty. We split the Frisco tots and they were so good! Pretty much just what you would expect from chili cheese tots with bits of hot dog in it and fresh onion on top. We stopped in at 12:30 on a Thursday. There were a couple of people waiting on their orders in front of us and about 10 people came in behind us. Service was pretty fast considering how many people were in there. Not that this place needs help. But if youve never been or somehow never heard of Christis, your missing out. I've been coming here for years and it's never changed up. To me it's a very nostalgic old style greasy spoon. No big frills or thrills, they let the food do the talking. Burgers are some of the best in the area. Fresh meat, fresh veggies and toasted buns, everything a body needs. It equals one tasty burger. Next are the Frisco tots. They chop up Frank's and add them to the chili. Layered tots chili and cheese with a few chopped onions and it's like eating a chili cheese dog on tots, best tots ever. Each bite takes me to big boy heaven. Local, friendly, hole-in-the-wall burger place I try to stop at when I go through Waco/Bellmead area. Burgers are yummy, and inexpensive, though not huge, and staff is friendly. My wife was with me this last time and she ordered a "grill cheese burger", which sounded yummy. The young gal behind the counter kindly warned that what she had ordered was pretty huge... being a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches for buns. She ended up with a regular cheeseburger, I got a double, we shared tots, and enjoyed it all. Locals came and went with familiar greetings from staff.
