So my partner and I work the overnight shift and really wanted some Chinese food. We were unable to go to Panda Express or any of the other Chopsticks locations, so we decided to try the Bellmead location. Bad move. Upon walking into this establishment we were greeted with the smell of toilet bowl cleaner that seems to hint that you really don’t want to know what it’s covering up. None of the workers were wearing gloves because the health department in Bellmead just isn’t a thing. We each ordered a one entree plate with General Tso’s chicken. We watched as chicken nugget like material was scooped from a bucket and thrown into the fryer. Beside the fryer was a bottle of siracha that looked like it had been there since the Bush administration. It might sound odd, but we went with it. It wasn’t long before our food was out of the fryer and tossed from worker to worker like an unwanted puppy. Following this our food was bagged up and given to us. We walked out to our humble car to enjoy a nice meal and a view of the scenic HEB parking lot. We opened our containers and found that our chicken nugget products were dosed in a liquid that looked a lot like motor oil. We tasted it, and the odd thing was that it simultaneously tasted like nothing but also everything all at once. Was it Chinese food? No. Instead I’ve come to believe that it was a traditional dish found only in Bellmead, passed down from generation to generation. Accompanying this delicacy was a large portion of rice that tasted as though it had been found in Uncle Bens closet circa 1924. Wild. Unfortunately we also purchased a side of hot oil, but lucky for us it turned out to be a rancid paste used by Venetian plague doctors to cure hemorrhoids. In retrospect should we have eaten here? No. What made us come to this location I’ve often thought following this experience. Was it hunger or was it destiny leading us to this forgotten realm of food poisoning. We may never know, but what is certain is that we will never return. The fortune cookie was...
Read moreWe tried this and place after just having a death in our family and needing some comfort food. Chinese food sounded good so I decided to give this place a go and order online and pick it up this is at 8:00pm on a Monday. The online system said it was not currently taking online orders. So I called about 6 times trying to get through to PLACE an order over the phone. Still no luck. Hungry and grieving I drive up there praying they are even open. I walk in and place my order. I then asked if their phones were working. They said yes. I showed them my call log and they confirmed the correct number and blew me off. I asked if the website was supposed to take orders they said yes. I told them that didn’t work. And they blew me off. So I sat in a room full of people grieving a loss and hungry when all I wanted to do was pick up some comfort food and go home to be with my family. I got the food and headed home. It wasn’t the best and it wasn’t the worst. I would say 5/10 taste wise. Customer service 0/10. To top it all off I have some sort of blue plastic in my food shown in the picture. Can’t say we will be...
Read moreChopsticks has gone downhill..quick. the value for the amount of food you get is great. But what are we really eating? I order gen tso chicken each time I have been. Each time the chicken becomes less && the breading or whatever that is is all that it is. It's mushy and taste like chemicals. I do not recommend this place to anyone anymore. Why is the fried rice neon yellow? How much food dye are you guys using? 5 years ago this place was ok.. now we do not go here period. I can almost guarantee that there is not one thing here that is what it says it is. Most people only gave them them stars because of the amount of "food" you get for your money.. is it really worth it though? Yikes. What are y'all really serving people to eat. Chopsticks is not good. Doesn't taste good. Doesn't...
