Downtown Den Tavern & Pizza — Restaurant in Beloit

The unfortunate part about this place is they do not have menus to give you nor do they have a scan code. You have to go over and look at their menu board, then come back and order with the bartender or server …you get plastic silverware in which the knife won’t even cut through the crust, so it’s useless. They forgot to give us any napkins whatsoever and of course, once you pick up the slice and start eating it it’s good but it’s very messy and you definitely need napkins. When we checked out and she gave me back my credit card, she gave me no pen or anything to sign it with and then immediately walked away so there I sat digging through my purse, trying to find a pen so I could at least write in a tip for her. 🤔. Oh yes and one of my biggest pet peeves was that she laid the plastic silverware directly on the bar that she picked the glasses up from the people that sat there before us but never wiped the bar off. Oh hell no. I know they’re new. I know they’re learning, but these are some of the points. They need to do better at. And that was my second time there. I was there two nights before that had my empty beer glass in the rail, waiting for the bartender that was conversing with her friends across the bar to notice But after five minutes and only six people in the bar, I ended up picking my glass up in waving it back-and-forth to get...

First time in on a Sunday afternoon at about 1 pm. There were 6 other patrons. Not busy at all. We stopped at the bar and said we wanted to order pizza and were pointed to what the bartender called a self service area to order our pizza. We walked over there and waited almost 5 minutes for someone to come take our order. The only thing that was self service was the soda machine. The first staff person didn't ask if we knew how to order and didn't provide any info about the available breakfast pizza. We ordered and got our pizza to go because the vibe was not inviting. The person who brought us our pizza was super sweet. The sauce we ordered with the pizza was not in the box, but we found a station to pour our own. The pizza was DELICIOUS!! Staff could use some training in being more hospitable and helpful. Will give it another try because of the quality...

Really friendly staff, and great vibe. I can see this place making a killing on weekends. Though they are welcome, I wouldn't recommend bringing kids seeing as it really does have that Tavern vibe. Good little spot to grab a drink and a slice of pizza. Once it slows down a bit I can see me having a date night with my wife there. Anyways, keep up...
