5BAR — Restaurant in Beloit

I couldn’t leave 0 stars. 5Bar is a place I’ve gone to here and there to support homies having rap shows or DJing, even open mic nights which I think is terrific. Literally enjoyed this place until blackout Wednesday when one of the 5Bar workers swung and tried to assault a friend of mine. The business begged my friend and his group to not call the police and then got kicked out and banned. He actually had to tell someone else to go in and get his glasses and jacket because they wouldn’t let him out. Also at my work, my coworkers often have gone to 5Bar but stopped after some predatory behavior done by the business owner and possibly some questionable substances entering drinks.

Originally a great plce for Beloit, especially after C House got shut down on the Beloit College Campus. To see the way 5Bar has gone, I will not be giving them any business or good words.

Also, the dude who assaulted my friend is known to be a menace around alcohol and has a history of being a bit abusive. Ironic they are saving face as best they can. Don’t go here, plenty of other Beloit businesses to give attention and your money, especially when you have to consider your own personal safety before walking...

Inventive, refreshing, accommodating, entertaining, there are so many positive ways I could describe 5bar, but with limited space and respect to you, the reader, I'll be succinct! I moved here just a couple of months ago, from a far away land, and I needed to find new friends who were like-hearted and open-minded like me. Upon my, FIRST, visit to, 5bar, I knew... Levi, James, Aubrey, Nick, Lupe, DJ Emu, DJ KO, Migs, Jacob, Luis, Dallas, Joe, yes, I've gotten to know them all, because they are so friendly and inviting to great conversation! Each shine like a light in the dark in their fields, whether it's mixology magic, culinary creation cuisine, or mastery over music and airwaves! They don't just practice good customer service, they are genuinely good people and wonderful to get to know! They have something for everyone during the week and weekends. Whether singing your heart out, getting comfy in front of a movie and having drinks with loved ones, getting back to beer pong roots or showcasing your moves on the dancefloor! I can’t say enough good things about this place! I absolutely love 5bar! From the atmosphere to the people to creative drinks to the awesome events! 5bar is definitely a one of a kind bar and experience that you will not find anywhere else! Levi (the owner) is a talented creative master when it comes to making up a monthly drink menu and weekly event calendars! There is always something happening there! It is a great place for the community and for people of all ages! I have attended many events there and each one is different! The staff make you feel like you are at home and part of a family! Plus, Lady (the corgi) is the cutest bouncer you ever did see! The drinks are amazing and the combinations possible are endless! Plus they have a wonderful mocktail selection too! So there is something for everyone!

I have had wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the owner on events and help develop an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons sessions there… which bring just another cool new experience to an already awesome place! I would definitely recommend this bar!
