Read moreAfter making a reservation for date night, my partner and I were excited for fried chicken and Champagne night at flights.
My first surprise, the only way to get the bucket of chicken and champagne is to order it to go (which I felt was odd on fried chicken and champagne night). Instead, you can order fried chicken (2 pieces) and a glass of champagne separately, but there is no fried chicken and champagne combo. Again, how strange on fried chicken and champagne night, Thursdays.
Now to the champagne, you can order a glass of champagne for regular price, 35 usd or the entire bottle for 70 something usd, but this is a 39 usd bottle of champagne, so to emphasize no chicken and champagne deal to be had here.
We were very disappointed with this entire affair, and to be honest, I would say there is no such thing as champagne and chicken night at flights currently to eat and drink inside. Flights can remedy this easily by offering a set menu with any discount they choose to eat in.
Lastly, we ordered the 2 piece chicken that came with a fish cake, which was so smelly and fishy that neither myself nor my partner could eat it. I respectfully let our server know that the cake was inedible, and they did nothing to remedy this. No, " can I get you another one?" Take it off the check, etc. " Readers, what do you think is good customer service here? Lastly, the fried chicken was bland and mediocre at best.
We do not have a desire to go back here. There are too many other great...
Read moreWe were delighted to discover Flights Wine Restaurant during a visit to Bend. It is hidden away just a short drive from downtown with easy parking. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff personable and friendly, food is excellent and the wine selection is great. The domestic and foreign wine selection is surprisingly varied and reasonably priced. If you ask, knowledgeable staff is eager to suggest wine that you might like.
We very much enjoyed sampling the 4 different wine flights and deciding as a group which wine we enjoyed the best and why. Our family liked the restaurant so much that we decided to return again two nights later. If we lived in Bend this would be a regular place to enjoy wine and dine out.
There is an outside deck that would be enjoyable in warm weather. Adjacent to the restaurant is a banquet room that was set up nicely for a...
