The moment your boyfriend volunteers to go over the Benicia Bridge with you and wait for your 3 hour hair appointment, you immediately know something's up. But I totally get it! Exploring nearby towns is fun, and Benicia is a great little spot not far from our home, that we don't get out to very often. So Fredie patiently (haha) waited for me at Rookies while I got highlights at Luxe by Colleen.
Once I finished my appointment, I joined him and his new friends and we enjoyed great food and conversation over a few beers. The chicken wings were okay ($12) but we have a couple spots closer to home I like better, a spilled glass of wine (another patron's half full glass) cost us another $7. Which, to be fair, he did spill, but accident's happen and on a $120 tab you'd think they could've just put another splash into a clean glass, imports are discounts to $4 on Tues, Bud Lights are still cheaper at $3.50. Jameson is $7.50 and delicious house-cut garlic fries are only $8.00.
The bartender, Luna, was awesome. She shared about her family's place in Thailand that we'll keep an eye out for when we visit in a few weeks. Another guy behind the bar was also awesome. Overall, wonderful service, drinks, food, and...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill. A Benicia resident and patron of this bar and restaurant for over 5 years and I sadly will not open up my wallet for this poorly ran establishment. Was once the “hot spot” but is now nothing more than a boring, outdated, dirty sports bar with rude servers and bad service. One day someone will knock this place off on 1st Street. Not very hard considering you just need to open up a REAL sports bar that actually has a good TV sports package and doesn’t play constant sports talk shows. The head guy bartender is a douche and doesn’t know how to bar tend or make money. I’ve been there several nights where the place is got lines out the door yet they will have last call at 12. Besides, the entitled college student crowd that troll these bars needs to go. Giving 2 instead of 1 because their garlic fries are “Good”. Stay away and spend your money in Walnut Creek at quality...
Read moreStopped by with a friend for cocktails and appetizers during covid pandemic. They had ample seating outside, with lots of space between tables, all servers were wearing masks, and they used online menus. The drinks were great - I had a tequila sunrise and 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon, friend had a martini and Angry Orchard cider. The cocktails were made well and the beers were cold. The appetizers were the stand out, though. We shared BBQ wings, tater tots, and sweet potato fries. All three were delicious. I wouldn't normally order tots, but I'm so glad we did! Crispy and flavorful. Our server and the other staff were really friendly. We never ran out of water, everyone seemed to be working well as a team, and everything was brought...
