I actually didn't even want to put 1 star just because of how my wife and daughters was treated at this place. My kids sanitized their hands as this is what they are supposed to do when entering this facility.Then, the lady that was tending the place (which is the same person that thank my daughters for sanitizing their handswhen they came in) was harassing my older daughter and kept asking her if she sanitized her hand every time she touched a book, but yet she wasn't asking anyone else that is looking at the books to sanitise their hands every time they touch a book. I don't want to think that they're being prejudice but it's hard not to think that way when my wife and kids are the only non Caucasian in the store...

This books shop is a local favorite of our family. They have a large children's/teen section which they keep stocked with the latest top of the line selection of kids books. Series such as Warrior Cats by Ian Hunter, and Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland.

It's nice because they also support local independent authors and have a section dedicated to display their books.

They have a good selection of graphic novels also.

Great collection of nonfiction, including new, interesting titles you'll see on, for example, a New York Times Bestseller list. Friendly, patient staff, really diligent about keeping everyone safe during covid, too. A neighborhood gem, imho, based on my few visits to Benicia.
