Cool place. The bar has been raised high in 2024 so I am giving this place a mid score. The pizza, which is more like focaccia, is decent. Coffee is typical for a cafe. The actual focaccia was dry, too doughy, and just did not taste very good. I ate half and threw the other half in the trash.
It was originally $15 for a small piece, but it was discounted for me to $12 because it was two days old. It was not heated up or put on a pan. It was cold and wrapped in saran wrap. I lived in Italy so needless to say, it was disappointing. I can't comprehend how the focaccia, with just a small amount of tomato sauce on it, is more than the cost of a pizza. I understand rents are high but this seems more like price gouging.
I can't just be Cali fake, put on a smile, and say its great just because its great to have a cafe in the area. There has to be a line and, imo, this crosses it. It should have at least been put on the pan to crisp it up given it was sitting on the counter for two days - even at the discounted $12 price. The workers are service oriented and friendly but the most important thing should be the food experience which is why I knocked a star off...
Read moreA little on the pricier side for some small pizza pieces, but the pizzas pack a great bunch of flavor in each bite! I got to try two pizzas (on accident!) they were very quick to respond to their error in my order by giving me a second serving of the pizza I originally ordered! I wasn't going to complain about the initial error (they gave me a margherita pizza instead of meat combo), but afterwards the manager asked if I wanted my original order and even gave me a second serving which I took to go. Lovely atmosphere and just the perfect small hole in the wall feel. Moving onto the pizza itself, perfect focaccia bread with a nice crunch that dissolved into a buttery soft dough. Plenty of savory sauce and a perfect zing of spice in the sausage and pepperoni to finish off the texture and taste. It also didn't seem saturated in oil and was just an all around pleasant bite. It didn't feel heavy and rich and was just perfect for a...

Once I got there, I didn’t have much time to order a coffee since they were busy, So I opted for four beignets, and 2 feta and spinach croissants. The feta and spinach croissants were very good would Absolutely recommend. As for the beignets, I’ve had beignets from New Orleans Not expecting Benicia coffee shop to be equivalent, however what Drift is serving are donut holes and for $3 bucks a pop! I would absolutely Not recommend these donut holes, also known as beignets according to drift for $3 dollars a pop. Would I go back? YEP ABSOLUTELY, The two ladies helping were so kind and sweet. The Shop is just cute as can be. Plus, I have to go back and try this prosciutto pizza and I have to...
