I have to drive over 80 miles each way to eat in the restaurant but it’s well worth it. I am English and travel to England usually about once a year to visit my family and of course I eat Haddock and chips a couple of times when I’m there and I must say that none of the chip shops there compare to Lil Britain because when you buy food in a British shop it has been sitting around for quite a while on display in a heated cabinet but in Lil Britain I always wait for the food to be cooked and I know it’s fresh out of the fryer. Everything my wife and I buy there is delicious and the staff are so very friendly. I’m a frequent visitor to Bennington, VT due to the fact that several of my favorite motorcycle routes intersect here. It’s a charming place to stop for a rest but I’ve found that the local dining options are mediocre. Until today when I was passing through and decided to dine at Lil Britain. The fish and chips were amazing. Everything was freshly cooked and served piping hot. The portion size for a small platter was very generous. The fish tasted fresh and wasn't overpowered by the batter (which had a perfect consistency!). The chips were soft and not too oily. I can’t wait to return and try out the other seafood options.
