A & S Bagels Inc — Restaurant in Bensalem Township

This used to be my go to place when I lived in Bensalem. After moving to NH years ago I always stop in when visiting family in the area to purchase a dozen bagels to bring home and enjoy. Today's experience was terrible, the man behind the counter was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in my life. I politely asked for a dozen everything bagels and he abruptly cut me off telling me I could only have six. I told him six everything bagels were fine, he rolled his eyes at me and in the most condescending tone told me I could only have six. There was no need for him to repeat himself since I already agreed six was fine so I politely asked for six again. He aggressively threw them in the bag then walked away from me, tossed them on the counter and walked away without saying a word. A woman who was making another order stopped what she was doing to ring me out and I left. Needless to say I will never go back, I was embarrassed by the way I was treated in front of my family and the other customers, the man's attitude was disgusting and completely uncalled for. I’ve been going here for years and love their bagels. The past 3 times I went there the older guy was unbelievably rude. My husband always ordered a bagel with cream cheese and porkroll and we received it countless countless times. We just tried ordering it and he said “no only bacon if your getting cream cheese!” I explained he’s always ordered this and he said “well before is before and now is now and no your not getting porkroll with cream cheese!” Just like that…so to be clear they have porkroll but would not allow it on a bagel with cream cheese. The most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. The past two times we were in there to pick up they were very rude, cursing, etc. I understand if your having a bad day but it’s another thing to treat customer horribly for no reason and to basically scream at them. Horrible place. I thought the food was good until after I ate I notice one of the cooks wearing gloves and didn't take them off. He made someone's food then got money out of the register then made more food continued to answer the phone and write down orders all with the same gloves on. Then when it finally slowed down he sat down and began eating with the same gloves on and then dusted off the counter and then started cooking and handling more food. I approached the man quielty and nicely and explained how I like this place but thats unacceptable and he got extremely nasty and said I dont have time for you. I will never go there again and Im definietly calling the Health Department. Very sad how they treat customers and not a care about getting people...
