Joey C's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Benton Charter Township

I thought the service was going to be bad based on the phone call to place my order. The lady came off a bit unwelcoming, but she was actually pleasant to deal with in person. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but I did order a ham sub and a pizza bread with mushrooms. The food was very good! I was looking for something like the local pizza place in my small home town because the place in my home town has been in business for decades owned by the same family since its start and had the best food ever! Joey C's met the challenge! The sub was delicious, and not skimpy on the portions either. The pizza bread was good. The sauce was good which makes me want to try an actual pizza. They use fresh mushrooms instead of can, which a lot of people prefer. I personally prefer canned on pizza, but it was good nonetheless. They also top their pizza bread, and assuming pizzas as well, with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning or oregano. Again, not a preference of mine, but it didn't detract from overall flavor. Keep up this kind of food Joey C's, and you got a new repeat customer! Also, worth mentioning as the affordable price. The total for my 2 items was around $15, and I couldn't come close to finishing. Half of the sub filled me up. I ate a small portion of the pizza bread so I could try it hot, but believe me, I was full to the max, and now have leftovers for dinner! All for just $15....

11 month update. I had to demote them. They were at a 4 based on the "coolness" of the customer service. It's Christmas Eve. I was ecstatic. I was out and placed the order. Over a 3 hour wait for the pizza. Okay. Still placed the order. Requested 1/2 combo 1/2 pepperoni. After 3 hour wait, they made the pizza entirely wrong and gave ME half off. I am so disappointed in that type of arrogant customer service to not redo the pizza or make just a small pepperoni only. I sent my son to pick up, with the cash tip, over 20% because they were working on a holiday. I didn't call because it was the holiday. I will say this - YOU DON'T PASS ALONG YOUR ERROR TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.

So I phoned in an order for a couple combination pizza's. Not a difficult order. When I arrived 45 minutes later my order was not ready. Guess what? They did not even put in the order. They found it on the floor. At the same time I observed a customer being treated poorly because he got a senior citizens discount. The person taking care of this man also got rude with him because he wanted to pay with debit. What? I love the taste of the combination pizza but I think I will just have to do without from now on.
