I am not one who typically leaves reviews. My spouse and I went to eat here on a Friday night. Walked in around 8:10pm. Website showed they close at 9 so we knew some things might be limited. What we didn't know was, they didn't and would not put any fresh dishes out while we were there. I had a few noodles, few fried shrimp, spring rolls, sushi, and mushrooms. The buffett choices did not have much of anything left to choose from at all. All of the food i was able to choose from tasted very old, had sat in the heated buffett way too long, and became very tough. The fried food tasted like old oil, the noodles were sticky and cold, and the shrimp was so tough I could barely bite into it. Sushi was OK. While sitting there waiting in hopes of fresh food coming out, we watched 4 or 5 people come in for to-go boxes, and 2 or 3 others to eat there. No one was told a heads up of the food left was all there would be. I watched a man with his shorts hanging down past his bottom (you could see his poo stains on his underware) scratch his crack while walking around with a to-go box, and another woman with a to-go box walking around.... they didn't find what they wanted so returned the to-go box as proof they changed their minds. The worker at the counter put the to-go box right back on top of the "clean" to-go boxes. Disgusted... I almost puked immediately. When we went to check out, I told the man I saw what he did, and I grabbed the box and folded it, and asked to dispose of it correctly. He then just placed it on the counter, promising to throw it away later... and then proceeded to try to give me a handful of fortune cookies in such a way as to suck up to me since I caught what he did. Read moreEdit 3: It seems that they have gotten the kinks worked out with their steam tables. I have been in a few times and have not noticed any cold foods off of the buffet. To go seems to be a little better, as they stuff the boxes as full as they possibly can most of the time. And I believe that they may have actually lowered their prices since I had eaten last. Still the same great service. You can tell that they really care about the service they provide. Can recommend for a Chinese buffet.
Edit 2: Haven't eaten to-go in a while because of the smaller portions and increased prices. Tried eating in the other day and most of the food was cold. Unfortunately it seems like the heating tables are not functioning correctly. If the food isn't being kept at the proper temperature it allows bacteria to grow and can lead to food borne illnesses. The waitress was nice as always. But until they replace or fix their heating tables i would recommend to steer clear.
Edit: The to-go boxes got smaller, but the prices just keep going up. I've been a patron of this establishment since it opened, but this has been the last straw unfortunately. The food hasn't gotten any better, the economy isn't as bad as it was, and inflation is improving. There is no excuse for this.
Been going here for years. Literally dozens if not hundreds of times. Never once had a bad experience. I'd say that's a pretty high average. One of the most consistent restaurants in Benton. Thanks...
Read moreDon't waste your money. I, like many other reviewers, am not sure why there are so many good reviews on here. If I had the choice of zero stars, that is what I'd give this place.
The chairs and tables were sticky. The food on the buffet looked hardly appetizing. The kids were super hungry and were already making their plates, so decided to give it a try regardless. Their cheese wontons (which I have loved at every other Chinese place I've been to) were stale. My husband's sushi was dry, so I didn't dare try the one I got. My sister's boyfriend's salmon tasted sour. He immediately stood up from the table, walked outside and proceeded to empty his stomach. He didn't eat another thing. Everyone in our party stopped eating at that point, except for the children that wanted ice cream. The chocolate ice cream was fine, but the vanilla was ruined. Upon my brother notifying staff of all of the above including the food being cold, the manager (or whoever/whatever he was) became loud and rude! Instead of listening to his customer's concerns, he became ugly and quite defensive.
We will not be back, and hopefully whoever reads this won't choose to risk it like we did. Our mistake. This place appears gross, the food is gross, and the staff are rude! Alllll except for the hostess who sat us! 5...
