We came for a late breakfast today with our daughter, son in law and grandson. We were seated immediately by a friendly young man. Our waitress asked for our drink order, then had to come back and ask again. Coffee, milk, two waters and a Dr Pepper. We asked for a highchair twice, and even by the time the meal was done, we still hadn't gotten one.(Our grandson ate in his mother's lap). Our orders were taken, she seemed nervous and we were having to repeat ourselves, then once again the young lady came back to ask questions about the order. Then the long wait started which we didn't understand with so little people there right then. At a table close to us, it seemed they were having issues also. When our breakfast came out, two of our plates were cold. Over medium eggs, scrambled eggs and sides. We asked the waitress for help and why was it cold. A different lady returned, no name tag but dressed nicely, we assume it was management. She informed us that she didn't understand how it was cold because the heat lamps are extremely hot.(Well any one with sense will know they filled two plates and those sat until the other two were done some time later.) I hope that she reads this and comes to know that her customers are not gullible but some of us are way to polite to argue. She took my son in law's plate but pretty much ignored the fact that my wife's was cold also. She came back with hot food for him, and my wife mentioned again that there was several cold plates and indicated hers. The woman then walked off. By this time our waitress is apologizing to that table close to us for something. My wife sat her plate at end of table, hoping someone would acknowledge it but it sat there until we left. She ate two crepes out of an entire "meal". We never received any apology during all of this from anyone, nor were we offered any discount due to the wait or inedible food. We had to ask for things twice or she asked us things twice. Mine and my wife's meals were over$30 with no tip left for once in years. We would have raised a fuss but it boiled down to 2 things. The first is the fact that my wife hates being rude or making scenes. The 2nd is that at this point, we just wanted to LEAVE! It seemed such a waste of our time and money from the moment we came thru the doors. We will not ever be back, we can take the grandkids on down the road. We will also be letting our large family and friends know about today's experience. There's several diners, a Cracker Barrel and Dennys to choose...
Read moreBENTON IHOP IS TRULY THE WORST!!! I hate to give bad reviews and normally I would just let it go and not go back but I just can't thus time. There has never been a time that I've had good service, good food or a decent price at this IHOP. I've been here a total of 5 times since it opened and each one of those times has been a bad experience. Today was a take out order. I called it in and gave plenty of time for it to be done. Got there was not greeted but was asked by a rude server "To go?" She went and told someone else I had a to go order and after waiting 4 minutes was approached by another server with a bag and a bill that was 4 times what it should have been because surprise, my order was wrong. After explaining I was not paying that amount and explaining again what I ordered there was no apology just an "Oh I must have misunderstood". Server #2 goes to who I assume was a manager but wouldn't know because he didn't come over to apologize for the confusion. Server #2 comes back with a discounted ticket. That would have been great but my order was still wrong. I didn't say anything about that gave the server my money and told her that every time I've come in there has been a problem. Again no apology. Because there is no register at the front she had to go get my change. Apparently the register she did use was out of change because she had to go to the office before she brought my change back. This process took 15 minutes! Add that to the call in time which was also 15 minutes and I have 30 minutes invested in a bad IHOP experience once again! Sad part being that there were exactly 6 customers there at this time. They were not busy, employees were standing around chatting and my order, the price and the service were all crummy. Now the worst part is that after I get home with the wrong order I thought i would just make toast and at least I could eat the bacon but guess what....bacon was undercooked. I threw it in a pan, cooked it myself and made toast! Basically I spent money and time at IHOP to come home and cook my own breakfast. Never have I had this happen at Waffle House. I will not go back to IHOP and you can bet I'll be going back to Waffle House where they are friendly and courteous, the food is always good, the price is always right and I never have to worry about my order being wrong. Get it...
Read moreI dined at IHOP with my two young children today. I ordered the fluffy French toast ultimate sausage and bacon combo. I asked for no toppings. When my meal arrived there were 2 sausage and 2 bacon, rather than the 3 each described on the menu. The server was very nice and brought me an additional piece of each. Once we finished our meals I was given the bill. On the ticket it listed "FT combo" for $11.69, 1 "s/ 2 sausage", and 1 "s/ 2 bacon". These items totaled $16.27, rather than the $11.99 advertised for my meal. I mentioned this to the server and he brought a manager, Savannah, to the table. She said I would have to pay this price as IHOP will not allow substitutions. I explained that I didn't substitute anything, but asked for no toppings (exclusion). She said it didn't matter and I would have to pay extra. I explained that I was never informed of this when ordering. I told her I will pay for what I ordered and no more. My total bill was $47.58. I deducted for the overcharge of $4.28 and gave the server $44 for my bill. As I was standing in the aisle, another manager, Raija, approached me aggressively and bumped into me. I asked her to back up a bit and asked what this was about. She informed me that I would have to pay the additional $3.58 or I couldn't leave. I explained that I had paid my bill according to what should have been charged. She then said if I left and didn't pay more she would call the police. I said she could do so if she felt that was necessary, but that was extreme and unwarranted. My 7 year old boy and 11 year old daughter became very upset with her threat to call the police and her aggressive behavior. My son was crying and she continued raising her voice, threatening, and standing in our path when trying to leave. We walked outside and waited for the police to arrive. The police arrived and I explained the situation. The manager finally determined she would not press charges over $3.58, but banned me from visiting this location. This situation is very upsetting. I would like IHOP to review both of the manager's conduct and provide a resolution. This matter is all about principle and unprofessional conduct to me. I cannot believe a manager would behave in this manner or that IHOP policies...
