If you’re ever in Bentonville and feel like surrendering to a culinary cult, let me introduce you to Laddy Slipper—the holy grail of tastebud adventures and my wife’s absolute obsession. We make it a ritual: every guest who steps foot in Bentonville gets a full initiation into this temple of ever-changing delights.
First off, the menu at Laddy Slipper is like that friend who can’t decide on a hairstyle—it switches up every other week with so much surprise and flair that you’re never quite sure what you’re in for. One minute you’re eying the bread, which is so ridiculously phenomenal that it should come with a warning label ("Caution: may cause uncontrollable carb cravings and spontaneous happiness"). Seriously, this bread is the edible equivalent of a mic drop at a rock concert.
But the real showstopper? Their Chicken Gnocchi. Picture this: a heroic slab of chicken teamed up with a sprinkle of pasta pieces, doing their own quirky rendition of haute cuisine. It doesn’t have the frills of a Michelin-star dish, but it has a punch of flavor that makes you wonder if it’s secretly been bench-pressing dinner expectations all week. And let’s be honest—sometimes all you need is a culinary shrug that says, “Yeah, this is amazing,” even if it’s just chicken and some wayward pasta.
And just when you think you’ve savored all the magic, there’s a hidden speakeasy vibe waiting at the bottom of the stairs—a nod to the rebellious spirit of the prohibition era. It’s like finding out your favorite diner moonlights as an underground jazz club, complete with secret smiles and whispers that make you feel like you’re in on the best-kept secret in town.
Laddy Slipper isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience, a rite of passage, and the ultimate "must-do" on guest tour. So, whether you’re a die-hard foodie or just in it for a good carb laugh, this place serves up memories you’ll be talking about long after the...
Read moreWhat has happened to this place..? The Lady Slipper was the coolest place in town last time I was here just quite literally 3 months ago. I went expecting it to be what I, and everyone else, has come to know and love but let me tell you, that ain’t it anymore. Whoever is managing this place honestly shouldn’t be and I’ll tell you why. As soon I sat at the bar I realize I can’t find a face I recognize working anymore. That in itself was probably the biggest let down. The bartender who took care of me was nice (never told me his name though) but he along with the servers I saw seemed disinterested or as if they just didn’t want to be there which surprised me for a Friday night. So when I said the manager probably shouldn’t be managing this bar, here’s why- as far as I could tell, the guy I was told was the manager, pretty much sat up top by the door on his phone and looked down every now and then with an equally disinterested look on his face. I came 3 or 4 months ago and saw employees smiling. Well that wasn’t the case this time. I guess now the customers get a mediocre at best experience because the staff is taking the lead of their manager and don’t seem to want to be there anymore, from what i gathered while I drank my two drinks and then decided to call it a short visit for Lady Slipper, to go check out The Hive. They’re staff at least seemed like they were happy to be there and happy to see me. From this experience, I won’t be going back to Lady Slipper and suggest you save your time and money and...
Read moreI wish I could share how the food was but after two hours of waiting they tried to cash us out without ever having received it. I was fine with how the night went and by that point I was up and searching for someone to either cash us out or get our food because we were starving. Our waitress was great when we arrived and then she never came back. I guess we had a new waiter but he also pretty much just asked the room if we needed anything and disappeared as well, until he tried to cash us out while I was searching for someone. I was hungry and just wanted to leave so we decided to cash out. At that point I’d still had an okay night and experience and I said to the server, “It happens.” As in they had forgotten about our food and it happens sometimes, but he snapped at me and said, “ It doesn’t.” I don’t know why he approached us with such an attitude when we had patiently waited more than enough time and all we asked was that the food be removed from the bill since we never received it. The atmosphere is great. Great service when it came to drinks. But being forgotten and then snapped at for their mistake is not something I tolerate. Won’t...
