Kudo Society Bergenfield — Restaurant in Bergenfield

This location has been open since about Feb ‘23 but just had its official “grand opening” event last week. Always a big fan of Kudo and happy knowing that there are now 3 different locations to choose from in the area, this one being their smallest (but my fav is Pal Park). Cute decor, cozy modern atmosphere, and same wide selection of food, drinks, and desserts. Despite the large menu, you can’t really go wrong and you’re bound to find smth you like. It can be easy to get overwhelmed by the options at first, but the staff are also super friendly and happy to help :) Name a popular Asian-inspired drink/dessert and they most likely have it (eg, milk/non-milk/slushie bubble tea, yakult, mochi donuts, bingsoo, waffle-croissants +/- ice cream). That and other café fare that you’d expect (coffee, tea, pastries) plus other “actual food” that are freshly made. (FYI you should mix the rice bowl before eating it ya’ll 👀) Across their locations, you can often see the thoughtfulness behind the details of their menu items, their food/drink preparation, and their space. had to throw the food out. did not taste good and their bulgogi rice bowl has mozzarella cheese & lettuce with a SWEET “spicy mayo”? ontop. & as someone without any allergies and is a coffee enthusiast, their coffee is terrible. made our throat hurt and swell?! even after an hour, the throat pain continued. Prices are high and dont match the value of the food. rice bowl came out to $20 and was not good. you can go to many places for delicious rice bowls where its half the price - just like the quickly next door, much better and authentic. nice people & fast service but that just means the food...

I will give them the benefit of the doubt because this is a new location, overall the staff seemed disorganized. Will give them a another chance in the future & update this review. (A client prior to me had placed an order which wasn’t taken properly, he walked out without his order because he didn’t want to wait any longer. & I was waiting out put my order while 2 staff were trying to figure out a coffee order) more organization, time management and attention to detail).
