ALDI — Local services in Bergenfield

Had problems at Aldi of Bergenfield, NJ back in late 2021 involving shopping carriages, accusations of shoplifting, etc. Stopped going for over a year. Figured I would reattempt. So I have now been back to this store three times in 2023. First visit went okay. Second visit, more problems with shopping carts, but then today... Before entering a shopper is exiting with her empty cart, I offer the quarter she accepts I take the cart. Select two items, and get on line. Harold waves that I am next, so I get on line. First, he rings up one of my items on the prior customers order so I have to bring this to his attention. After completing the prior customers order, and then scanning my order, my total comes to $5.68. I tender $6, and he has to open a new roll of coins to make change. Once he selects the correct change, my change - not the coin roll - gets thrown to the floor. I got a bad back so I am really not supposed to bend. Seeing that I'm not diving for the change he picks it up and tenders it. Then upon leaving the store, I get approached by a woman accompanied by a man. After I put the items in my vehicle, she wants me to give her the carriage. I request the quarter, and she suddenly plays dumb and cannot speak English. Given this, I bring the carriage back to the concrete corral but the guy she with attempts to block me entering the corral. Good prices. Limited selection. Definitely not worth the hassle...

Just a heads up, they are packaging pork into beef/steak packaging! I bought it read steak without noticing. My boyfriend cooked it and asked me why I bought pork chops when I was wanting steak. He noticed it was pork but thought I was aware of it. I told him “No it says steak, it was packaged looking like steaks with the darkness and coloration of beef. Read the package.” He told me “Love, I noticed they were pork chops I didn’t read it. I thought you changed your mind. So you paid steak price for pork?” We both didn’t communicate enough to realize what was going on 😭 Whoever packaged this is wrong. Aldi check your product.
