Unfortunately, every experience with this Dairy Queen has been awful. Anytime I order something and want extra fudge/peanuts/toppings/stuff, they always get it wrong. This DQ is the closest where I live, so I keep giving it a shot, but only 1 time out ~13 has this DQ gotten the order correct. I keep justifying going back because its close and I think to myself "at least I'll still get some form of ice cream...".
The issues vary with sometimes the order is just rung up wrong, other times... you are charged for everything you asked for but will receive only the standard order (no toppings, fudge, etc.). Most of the time when it happens, I go back and ask them to give me a small cup of fudge/toppings/etc. or to take back the wrong food item and to replace it with what was paid for.
The most recent experience I had was where I ordered two sundae items. One with extra fudge, the other with extra peanut butter. After repeating the order three times at drive-thru, the order was correct on the receipt. However, the two food items I received were completely incorrect and one was not a sundae. So, once again, I parked and went inside to ask if the order could be done correctly. I had the receipt with me which properly reflected the correct order, so I assumed this would have been an open-shut case. Instead, I walk into the restaurant (empty of customers), and notice the staff was joking around, then they all got quiet when they noticed me holding the two incorrect food items (nobody enjoys dealing with unsatisfied customers). When I presented my case, the cashier that took my order looked directly at the employee beside her and with attitude stated, "That ain't what he said. He got what he ordered. I got my order right". The cashier was talking about me, like I wasn't right in front of her with the receipt! I offered the receipt to show that I wasn't trying to be difficult, however the cashier simply turned and walked off.
I stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, then looked for a manager but nobody claimed the title. So I then explained my case to one of the older employees and he tossed the two food items, made me the correct order, and then went on his business.
Today, my girlfriend went by DQ and ordered myself a Sundae with extra fudge. She claimed they repeated it back to her. However, the Sundae contained no extra fudge nor was there a charge for it. I was still happy though, because "ice cream". We've learned the key here is to manage expectations with this DQ.
The food itself isn't any worse than other Dairy Queens, just...
Read moreI would like to file a complaint on location 4890 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Norcross, GA 30071. The “Manager” Ashley lied multiple times. She requested to see proof of my purchase when it was placed via mobile order. She said that has always been protocol and then said it just started today then changed it again. I frequent this location and many other locations and have never been asked to prove my purchase via email. What if I did not have a cellular device with me or no service. She refused to cancel the order. Showing proof of just my name “because people can still my credit card” but not actually verifying the order when shown is crazy. Anyone can make an account and say they’re picking up an order for me. Me providing my name should be enough or make it a clear rule in writing. If a scammer made the order then obviously they have proof of the order. She just made this up on the spot. I even place orders and have my husband pick it up and never had an issue. I want a refund and I’ll be sure to never visit DQ again unless it’s own by a franchise that have employees more intelligent than this location (or can at least stick...
Read moreYesterday my fond memories of DQ were ruined. I took my daughters in thinking they were in for a treat. I was so wrong. The cashier was rude, and didn’t understand a simple hot dog question. The drinks fountain was dirty! Old soda or syrup of some sort was on the nozzles- just caked. The inside looks so old and dirty- guaranteed to fail a pop up inspection. The tea was not made, so I tasted some very old stale remnants of tea.. they need to clean their tea canister!! The fruit punch was pure syrup. The water didn’t work at the drink station. The workers all looked like they literally just woke up. The food was decent though.. they didn’t cook it- it was basically heat it and serve. Im afraid to even think what the kitchen area looks like.. man… that just really turns me off to DQ! Like for good. Oh and I ordered a chicken strip basket combo, a burger combo, the 2 for $6 chili cheese dog, and a large onion ring- all for $36- smh! Future guests just order through drive thru- preserve your good memories. If you go inside and look around you will definitely...
