Pinckneyville Park is a very large park in Peachtree Corners/Duluth area. Most of my pictures came from the Main Entrance off of 4758 South Old Peachtree Road. The main entrance has many rental pavilions, a small and large dog park, a roller hockey ring, and a skate board park. Multiple sets of playgrounds are located in the park.
The renal Pavilion's are spacious.
Seven-field baseball/softball complex. There are two smaller playgrounds in between the baseball and softball fields.
When I drove in I started in the back of the Main Park where the roller hockey rink is. Very nice roller hockey rink. First one I have seen in Gwinnett. There is also a small skate park.
The larger playground is in it's own area in the back of the park. It has many slides, ropes to climbs on. A very nice variety on larger and smaller slides.
There is a smaller kids playground in the back on the main entrance where the volley court and the pavilions are located. This playground is also very well shaded. There are swings and monkey bars. Also a very nice ramp attached to the smaller kids playground.
Two separate dog parks are located beside the base ball/softball fields. The smaller dog park is smaller than the very large wide open space in the larger dog park area for larger dogs. The larger dog park is very open, also has some woods enclosed. Very nice and spacious dog park.
Beside the dog park is the softball/baseball fields. There is another playground at the ball fields, one for smaller kids and for...
Read moreThe dog parks are great. The people who don't abide by the posted rules of the park are the problem: the adults who bring their kids into the large park, the people who bring in their obviously aggressive dogs, and people who smoke cigars/cigarettes. The park is large enough for a handful of dogs to run around, but don't expect to get a lot of 1-on-1 with your dog unless there's not many people there. People usually leave dog bowls and sometimes dog toys laying around. There's a water fountain for you and your pup, but the last time I went, the water came out very minimally. You'd be better off bringing your own water.
If you're not up for the dog park, there's a trail. They've recently repaved most of the trail, so it's nice and smooth. The scenery isn't really that great, but most of the trail is covered in shade so it's nice shaded walk. There are several trashcans available for you to throw away poop bags; however, several areas have distant trashcans depending on where you're located so you may have the minor inconvenience of carrying poop bags for a solid 3-5 minutes depending on your speed.
Overall, it's a very recreational park. You see kids commonly playing on playgrounds; that's something you don't see much anymore around here. They got a small skate bowl and skating rinks that are used regularly for skate hockey games. Baseball, soccer fields, batting cages, etc. It's a pretty nice park, usually not overly crowded but it has...
Read moreGreat fishing at the pond. I was there last week and caught a 4 pounder. There are big fish, but they are extremely rare to find and hard to catch. Good place to bring kids fishing especially when they are learning. The fish in here are little dinks, but they fight like 10 pounders. Topwater or moving baits are not ideal for this pond. An ideal bait would probably be something on the bottom like a T-rig, C-rig, Wacky rig, Neko rig, or a jig. I don't recommend using live bait because there are a lot of birds they will eat your live bait. Also, the banks are covered with trees and grass. So be careful when casting because you will get your bait stuck in a tree. Also, if you have or are planning to fish here, please clean up after yourselves. I found 4 senkos, 3 crankbaits, and a jig while I was there. I also found the banks littered with red cups, beer cans, soda cans, and a bunch of...
