Cali Alley — Restaurant in Berkeley

I love Cali Alley! I will gladly pay what they are charging for food that is clearly fresh-made by hand. You don't find that kind of love put into food everywhere. The prices are comparable to most restaurants around.

The burger patties are thick, juicy, and cooked to specification. The edge of the bun usually has a nice crispy ring surrounding a fluffy bun. I greatly appreciate the effort Cali Alley puts in to get the order right every time.

Cali Alley is also amazing about timing their order. The time displayed on food takeout apps for when it will be ready is always accurate.

I am curious though--was there a change made to the recipe on the fried chicken breading for the chicken and waffles? Couldn't help but notice it seems different from when I last ordered a few months ago. It used to have small pieces of a leafy herb on it that are no longer there. But it looks like the menu is expanding and has more chicken items available, so if it is a matter of maintaining consistency across dishes, then I understand :)

Highly recommend Cali Alley and hope to bring my friends here some day! Will happily continue...

I had lunch at Cali Alley today, and it was over the top. I had a hamburger that I needed help with lifting. It had avocado, bacon, an egg over easy, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a pickle on the side. It came with the best french fries, perfectly sized, and fried to perfection. My cousin had a fresh salad with just every kind of green, tomatoes, and so much more. I was so into my supersized hamburger, I did not concentrate much on her salad. Then, she ordered macaroni and cheese, which was streaming with delectable fragrances. Of course, I was still working on my hamburger. My cousins had limeade, that they said tasted so fresh and so refreshing. I decided to give a gift certificate of Cali Alley to a friend for his birthday. He will love me for it. This place is the best, and so affordable. It is definitely a five...

Nice little restaurant in the cut , big food coming across the window! Take your time to find this little gem just off San Pablo in Berkeley. I had a tri-tip sandwich, it was so big I literally needed a cherry picker to get it out of the box. Tri-tip with thinly sliced seasoned with salt and perfect smoke , super tender and bathed in coleslaw . French fries were so amazing everybody at the table just helped themselves. You definitely want to get another order of those if you're with friends. It's rare that you find a homemade fry that's actually good these people do it extremely well. My friend is a fan of waffles and pancakes and was thrilled to see a waffle on the menu that was also fabulous. Mac and cheese was tasty and came in as one of the cheapest items on the menu but didn't lack flavor or size. Can't wait...
