Bobby G's looks like a casual fun place to have a meal with friends and family. The menu is pretty basic Italian foods you would expect at a casual dining restaurant. It has tv's around to watch a game and enjoy your food. For me, the food was just ok. I did not really enjoy my food. I ordered the chicken Parmigiana, stuffed breadsticks, and the Ham & Gruyere Panini. The best out of the 3 was the panini. It had thick slices of ham and crisp bread. It was a little dry and could have used more of the garlic aioli. The Chicken Parmigiana looked great with a good sized cutlet but it just lacked in flavor. As for the breadsticks, it looked great but once again lacked in flavor. I love stuffed breadsticks or stuffed crust but this was just bad. It was too much bread versus stuffing and the cheese had no flavor. TBH, Pizza Hut's stuffed crust was far superior to what I ordered here. It also did not help that this was the last to be served to us despite it being a "starter." I asked about it after having been served the main dishes and although they said that it sometimes takes a while, I frankly think that they simply forgot. If the STARTER takes that long, first they should inform the customer upon ordering AND they should perhaps ask if they want their main courses first AND they should perhaps not list it as a STARTER. The staff were all very friendly but just lacking in service. No one checks on you nor provide refills on drinks. It was more self service in that I had to repeatedly go up to the bar for help. Overall, the food was barely ok and the non-existent service, I would not...
Read moreBack again, this time earlier eve Friday. Atmosphere is amazing with young locals enjoying being themselves at the bar. Despite the many sports TV's, you can hear the soft relaxing pop music put on. Its high ceiling disperses the sound and the lovely smell of oven baked pizzas fills the place and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. Based on my last experience I decided to give them a second chance and glad I did. The pizza was delicious and at a good price.
Below ex experience 4 months ago:. Will delete after this visit as truly enjoyed the place, beer and fantastic pizza.
For a Sunday eve we were welcome to have a pizza late order whilst locals drunk by the bar. Somewhere on the line after we chose & paid, we were told it was not available, and changed order to a vegetarian pizza half the choice, plus charged extra for late ordering. A whooping $35 total for this veggie pizza and a lemon drink. I think we have been done. Won't go back. Having said that, the earlier customer had a massive pepperoni pizza they had to ask for a box to take away half, and not charged for the box. Sorry Bob, stay on the prosperous side of business, not...

Reason for the missing star: Side note: I don’t know who’s makes the hiring decisions. Here’s a note the person opening service for Saturday service does NOT belong in the restaurant, food & beverage, hospitality industry. Not only was the service poor but the entry of customers ignored as we sat and waited for simple drinks (water &canned soda). Others weren’t even greeted. We were treated in a manner that is a custom to other San Francisco snobbish restaurants. Not the Berkeley way 🛑
On through the light highlight of my trip to Berkeley. The pan fry pizza with goat cheese and mushrooms and caramelized onions cover with scattered crackly bacon served on a tray by begrudging little person. My friend he had the awesome famous ever belly stuffing pizza bread. This time he chose to stuff it with mushrooms caramelized onion bacon spinach and extra cheese I watched himDevour the entire tray! This place is a staple to the community in Berkeley for pizza authors serving all things bread and cheese gooey and yummy and hot. it’s worth the food stay and enjoy yourself ignore him he’ll...
