I've been here twice and both times was a pretty good experience. Right off the bat I'll say I took a star away because the tables weren't wiped down before people sit at them. Since the outdoor seating is first come first serve mine had coffee grounds on it still. Also there was a family that put 3 tables together, stayed for 5 minutes and then left 2 glasses on one of the tables. A little after that two ladies came outside to sit and took one table away and a few minutes after that two more took another table and separated it as well. So basically a free for all seating area where anything can happen.
Onto my order I got the breakfast burrito with bacon and a macchiato. The burrito had a nice spice to it with the salsa inside and I had an additional sauce to put on top that was super yummy. The bacon was a bit sparse though. It had large wedges of potatoes inside that took up most of the space so I only got a couple bites of bacon on the side. Regardless it was a nice meal.
I'll also add that since it's closer to University it's usually a little less busy than the other cafés on 4th street so that's also pretty nice. I walked by the other places later on and they were just packed full of people. That made it nice for here where I wanted something...
Read moreWe had high hopes for the food and atmosphere sadly that was not the case. This cafe was not giving at all! We placed our order and the cashier that was working was so sick. I could not hear him over the counter because his voice was so hoarse, I asked if he was sick and I was greeted with a serious non emotional glare. In this post Covid climate you can’t be too careful, he should wear a face mask if he really cared about his customers. When the food was brought out, it was placed on the table carelessly, so much so that 1 of the burrito halves almost fell off the plate. The server almost elbowed me in the face while reaching across the table without saying “excuse me.” I ordered 1 of the 2 chocolate croissants for my son that they had on display, and it was never brought out until I went up to ask for it. I was told they were out, but in reality they had given the croissant to a “regular” that ordered 3 people behind us in line. We tried making the best of it because of our vacation but the issues kept snowballing from there. The coffee was lukewarm, not hot! We will not be returning to this “coffee shop” our high hopes were shattered, I would rather get Starbucks than this “cafe” that should...
Read moreI have been coming to cafe revaille for almost two years now (about every month or so). The food has always been great but the service was mid at best. Typically pay $30 all in for a breakfast burrito and latte. Pretty pricey but expected for the area etc.
Today after dining for lunch, I have noticed a pattern that is seriously concerning and will not be returning ever again. The server who wears all black with tattoos is one of the rudest, most unprofessional servers I have encountered. The first couple times I gave him a pass because he may have been having a bad day. But after today - i can’t come back. He slams cutlery down on the table, rolls his eyes when you ask for extra hot sauce, speaks to patrons in a condescending tone, and stares at you like you’re an alien if you ask basic questions like could I get more water. Also, I found two hairs today - one in my latte and another in my burrito today. They remade my latte by taking out the hair and then reblending the contents in the frother. I have been a customer of this place for a while but if you’re management and reading this, this place has gone downhill considerably....
