Placed an order for pick up. It's my first time there. I ordered 2 rolls. 1 with shrimp (for a friend) and 1 without as I have a shrimp allergy. I asked if they could be packaged separately. Ordered a side of ponzu (apparrently extra charge) but they didn't mention it at the time of the order. I've never been charged extra for sauces at any sushi restaurant, but cool. No biggie. When I arrived, the rolls were packaged together so I told them I requested them separate so they opened the box and put one in another box, so I said no no no... I asked for separate boxes because I have have a shrimp allergy and they said well you didn't say that when you called and we always package together. Needless to say, they did not want to remake the roll, or give me my money back becasue they said I should have specified the shrimp allergy not just separate boxes. So, that said... sure I should have said shrimp allergy, but I find it hard to believe that just because I didn't give a "good enough" reason to have separate boxes, then it's on me. What if I just like my food separate, or not to touch...? hmmm seems like lazy unaccountability..... anyway- 1 star because my friend said the rolls were good. But that the eel tasted funny on one. But ill never go back. Just bad customer service. I'm a student at Cal and eat sushi about 3 times about week.... they lost out. It's close to campus and...

Couldn't be more disappointed! They charged me for the wrong order ($44), then "credited" my account, then charged me for my actual order ($18). In the end I was charged $62+ for 3 sushi rolls (they even got tips on both orders). They never credited my account. I understand errors do happen. I was even patient and understanding when I initially called to let them know the credit never went through (I used to work in a restaurant, so I get that accidents happen). After a week of calling (over 10x), leaving messages, and being promised call backs, I am now left with no option but to go through my credit card company. I couldn't be more disappointed in their service and lack of assistance. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have handled this, or I should say NOT handled this. They have lost a customer, and one that used to go...

I have been coming here for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences up til a few days ago. The food is reasonably priced and really great and service is friendly, but when I went this past Wednesday evening, the dine-in side was super super busy and one very stressed server had to cover all 10+ tables, plus it seemed like they had to keep running between the two sides of the restaurant. My partner and I waited for almost forty minutes and the poor server couldn't take our order. If the management reads this, PLEASE don't schedule like that again. I really hope Wednesday night was a fluke and Manpuku doesn't make a habit of understaffing like that. It's a terrible way to treat your hardworking servers and unpleasant for...

Very average sushi restaurant. At the front is a take out section. Even if you are dining in you have to pay up front . The decor and vibe definitely fast foody and hole in the Wally. The food itself was OKAY, not as fresh as I would have liked to have. The slices of chirashi could have been bigger but I was still okay with it. Miso Soup was super average and kinda tasteless. The best thing that I had was the spicy tuna maki which was cheap and delicious, would definitely have that again. Service was alright, nothing to write home about. All is all not a bad experience and I may return for a cheap sushi fix but high quality Japanese eating this was not so set your expectation bar right!

Very nice sushi and Japanese restaurant. It’s small with a long counter and 5 or 6 small tables. You order food and pay first at the cashier before you sit at a table. That’s a bit odd since you really cannot give a tip until afterwards since you don’t have a clue about the service. The food is very good with great flavors and there’s decent quality and quantity. We ordered a tempura roll which was really delicious and only cost $6.85! We also ordered a rainbow roll for $11.85 which was good although the sushi was a little thin. The nigiri was better with more quantity and the quality was also very good. We spent $55 for dinner with tax and were full. Yes, we left a tip in cash…

The chef doesn’t know how to keep fresh Sushi. The rice of pre-made Sushi is frozen like ice, dry and hard, unable to swallow. A real Japanese cook will be mad on what they are doing. When we complained, the waitress simply said sorry because the refrigerator is set too cold. If you know it’s too cold, why don’t you keep it in right temperature instead of keep selling it to the customers? I understand the price is attractive probably it’s why there are so many positive reviews. I never expected it has the same quality as Sushi Sho which is just five minutes away. But it does fail to conduct the best practices and please show respects to the food and professional of cooking.
