Good study spot. Pastries/bakes goods are great (they'll warm them for you if you are eating in), the sandwiches are maybe a bit pricey but good quality (Good Girl Gone Bad is a great combo of ingredients), and the coffee is good. The Oh Mint is very popular and is good, depending on who makes it. I've has some very weak versions and some perfect ones. If you are comparing it to Philz iced mint mojito, however, you will be left disappointed. The Americano is a bit strong for my taste.
For something sweet, I'd definitely recommend the salted caramel brownie or the PB honey banana toast. The bread they use is cut thick and is a bit sour which pairs perfectly with the nuttiness of PB and the sweetness of the honey and banana. You'll definitely want a napkin for your fingers, it's going to get sticky!
I wish they would call out names instead of drink orders because I've had my order get taken by someone who came in after me but ordered the same thing.
There is quite a bit of seating but it's often busy so it still may be hard to find a spot, especially one with an outlet. However if you can get a seat, this is a great place to study or do work. They change the WiFi password often so be sure to ask for it when you order. The restroom is convenient and generally clean. They're a bit lax with restocking toilet paper...
Read moreThis place was a weird experience. We came in to order a drink. When we asked to use the restroom, the staff made sure we know it’s for paying customers only (each customers need their own drink to use restroom). Well, that’s fine with us but when she tried using the restroom she was stopped more than once and interrogated. I’m not sure whether this policy was implemented due to the homeless population but we don’t look anything of the sorts. It gave us an uncomfortable feeling. I didn’t get kicked out for having an outside drink though (a reviewer mentioned that had happened to them).
As for the coffee itself, she ordered the cupids potion which supposed to have vanilla beans and blueberry. It ended up just tasting like regular black coffee you’d get from a brewer at your office. I’d had expected more with their prices. Can be an one off kind of thing! Hoping other people have better luck with their coffee. Other than that, the place is well kept...
Read moreI would give this place a 4.5 star rating if I could, but right now it's at 4.2 so I thought I'd round up.
The service is amazing. They always greet me and are very polite, always ask me if I need any more milk with my coffee, and I love the Hershey's kisses they include. The cafe is also really neat and tidy, too.
Like some of the other people have mentioned, the chairs can get uncomfortable, since you only have a selection of wood wish pillows or small cushioned stools with no backrests or armrests. I used to go there to study, but I don't anymore (except very rarely) because of the seating situation and also because I can't write when there are lyrics from music in the background, but I love the Mocha Decadence.
P.S. For those of you who want to try the toast, but are dissuaded by the big price tag, it IS kinda expensive, but I found it really nice, especially their jam, so if you have an extra buck I'd...
