This place used to be good. I spent the past five months in Japan and was really looking forward to having some Mexican food for the first time in a long time. I was hoping my shrimp quesadilla would be like last year; it wasn’t. Every bite had some sandy-like crunch to it - I tried to gaslight myself into continuing eating it, and I just couldn’t. (The shrimp was also dry and overcooked AND unclean, with a lot of entrails spilling about.) So I took it back, as awkward as that is. The girl behind the counter was very kind and helpful when I said I’d like a refund if possible, because I’ve lost my appetite, but she had to take my phone number and email, which I thought just added insult to injury—because the last thing I want to do is continuing this issue by dealing with it over the phone when I am busy. All I wanted was a good quesadilla, like… So she offered a burrito for free. I hesitated, knowing that that would entail giving up my refund, but I felt bad, so I let her do it. And when she asked me if that was enough compensation, I said sure and thanked her and walked away. (I didn’t want a burrito to begin with; too heavy.) So when I got around to eating it, again—I couldn’t. It was the driest, worst burrito I couldn’t even finish ever. The meat was really dry, too much rice, too much beans, and the tortilla was completely torn up—I mean, the cook wrapped it already torn up (see photo). I would have let this go if I at least got some lunch out of it. If they’re seeing this, yes, I’d definitely like a refund, and then I can at least adjust the rating or take this down. But you guys seriously need to revisit your cooking practices and the quality of your foods—seriously. What happened?—you guys used to be delicious. I’m really disappointed. Kinda ruined part of my day, food is important. And now I’m taking time writing this instead of...

When I think “super” burrito, it usually means a regular sized burrito but with extra meat/guacamole/sour cream or salsa, so initially when we ordered 2 super burritos and the bill was 40$, I immediately thought it was pricey and hoped it was good. I was totally wrong about what I thought super burritos were here. I got the Al pastor super burrito, and it was as long as my arm 😂 it suddenly made sense why 2 burritos cost 40$. They are HUGE, and other reviews don’t mention how oddly huge they are and brush them off as just big burritos.

Aside from just how big of a portion they are (I was starving at dinner time but ate just 20% of the whole burrito and my boyfriend ate roughly that much of his carne asada burrito too) We liked the Al pastor better between the two. The salsa was delicious too! Solid 4/5, and although the huge burritos took us by surprise we easily get 3-4 more meals each out of it which is hilarious...

I don't state this lightly, but I'm very upset that I got sick for several days from a fish burrito here and the burrito wasn't even good! I order periodically from here and the burritos are sometimes very good, sometimes very meh. This time I got sick for multiple days, and I know for a fact the food poisoning was from the burrito because I limited my eating that day to have a burrito cheat meal. My god, I was hoping for a satisfying end to my week but that night I got food poisoning symptoms and am still recovering.

Barring the neglected food safety that led to my demise, the burrito just wasn't good at all. I ordered extra fish and there was very little meat (compared to other meats I've ordered extra of), and the fish was unseasoned, tasting very bland. There were heaps of rice though, to cheaply make it more filling. Not a fan.

Honestly I still would eat/order from here, but I know to avoid the...

When I first moved to Berkeley, I terribly missed the Mexican food in SoCal. La Burrita and El Burro Picante just didn't quite compare... but then Tacos Sinaloa opened up... It was love at first sight. The menu offers quite the variety. You can get tacos, burritos, ceviche, you name it. From standard meats like Carne Asada and (my absolute favorite) al pastor, to more exotic ones like lengua and cabeza, you're sure to find something great. They also have camaron and pescado, as well as veggie options. Whatever you get, I'm sure it'll be great! Even better, the always friendly staff is super generous when it comes to topping off the meat and fillings. Want more rice, cheese, or beans? No problem; there's no charge for that. Each and every time, the food is delicious, filling, and easy on the wallet. No other casual, fast-food Mexican place compares in Berkeley.

I knew this place looked familiar, a friend told me they started off as a taco truck, and I remember long time ago, I went to this taco truck on international in Oakland! I remember the tacos being amazing, just the area was very ghetto! Didn't realize there was an actual restaurant location until recently and would like to say it's just as amazing as the truck! I've gotten the carnitas and shrimp! Carnitas had a nice crunchy skin, while being very juicy too! Shrimp was nicely cooked/grilled, wished it was more grilled!
