Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea — Restaurant in Berkeley

Unbelievably Awful Service in Yifang Fruit Tea makes me feel like discrimination. Their tea is farewell. But if you are a female and you are along, Consider before you go. They have an extremely awful cashier and bad service attitude. I would never imagine that as an international student in Berkeley will undergo such this likely discrimination nearby Berkeley campus. Here's my reason. On 5th Feb 2019, I went to Yifang and ordered two Brown Sugar with a to-go bag. But when I picked up my order, the cashier said I did not order a to-go bag, which worth 10 cents. Since I've brought milk tea there before, I know a bag cost 10 cents. Therefore, I definitely ordered the bag at the very beginning to pay it with a credit card (you cannot use the card to buy a plastic bag). But the cashier said I didn't. Then, I replied "But I remember I did order. Never mind, I want a bag." When I started to take cash from my purse, all of a sudden, he started to blame me with disdain. He said that "No, you didn't. I remember you didn't. Maybe you forget you didn't order, you are too focused on your phone." I was shocked that he was so offensive, given that I did not even say a word to blame his mistake. This is for the Cashier who treated me in that way: Because I do not seem to be aggressive, and I am a short, shy Asian female under twenty who you are easy to take advantages of, you were able to excuse your mistakes on me? Come on! Can you not find excuses for your own mistake? Be responsible for your job and be nice to...

My first time trying Taiwanese pearl milk tea drink in the US! And for the first timer, Yifang gives me a good impression with the great taste drink. Yifang in the US now is only located in California. The one that we visited is located only 1 minutes walking from University of California, Berkeley, so that we could see a lot of student here. Their speciality is definitely the fruit tea, especially pineapple. Well, because I was so excited with matcha drink, I skipped their signature drink. If I come back to Yifang again, I definitely will try their fruit tea 🙂

I used to come here all the time when I was still in college. This time I had the worst experience. I ordered black pearl milk tea latte on postmarked. After arriving and waiting 15 minutes, website shows my order is ready. When I asked them, it turned out they haven’t made my drink. Even worse, they’re running out of black pearls. How can a boba team run out of pearls??? They also told some other guy waiting that they ran out of grass jelly, even though the guy called 10mins earlier just to confirm they have it. Now, this experience bu itself is already at 1star level, and they made it even worse by refusing to give me refund on the spot even though they replaced my order with a different item with lower price.
