If you have any other dinner plans tonight, bail and come here instead. This place is about to change the restaurant game in Central Vermont. They have put a massive amount of effort into transforming the interior of the building, it is absolutely stunning. The menu holds lots of wonderful options, with beautiful photos. The servers were delightful and very good at what they do. The food...🫠🤤 The food here poses a threat to all other restaurants in the region. It is a million times better than anything I've had in a long time. There's nothing I hate more than overpaying to go out to eat, only to be served something that I can make better at home. That happens quite a lot, but NOT here. This food blew the doors off of any expectations I could have had. I cannot say enough good things about it! The price was refreshingly reasonable. These days our family of 3 usually costs around $120 or more to take out to an average dinner after tax and gratuity. We lived it up and even got dessert and fancy (non-alcoholic) beverages. After everything was said and done, it only came out to around $30/person. I couldn't be more impressed and delighted with the experience. I kept having to remind myself that I was still in Central Vermont and not at a high-end...

My family and I have been waiting for a legitimate Tex-mex and Mexican restaurant in Central Vermont, and Casa Azteca has been well worth the wait. The food tastes amazing, with depth of flavor in every single dish you get. My family and I have tried many things on the menu and rotated to make sure we try a little bit of everything. We haven’t had anything bad yet!
For appetizers, any of the dips are delicious, with the house salsa included with each meal, tasting freshly made each time, but I recommend the queso fundido. The cheese is freshly melted with the tasty chorizo to make a warm and savory dip. My favorite dish is between the chimichangas and the bean burritos. Make sure you come hungry because you will leave stuffed!!! The portions are very well worth your money.
My dad even shook the owners hand the first time we went to the restaurant because he was so happy and excited to have good quality Mexican food locally here in Vermont.
Make sure you visit as soon as you can to this amazing new addition to the culinary scene of Vermont!!!
Don’t let the line out the door or wait fool you. My family and I go weekly and never wait more...
Read moreGreat service from attentive and friendly staff. The atmosphere isn't my style (I hate televisions while I'm eating, really detracts from the food) but it's cheerful and clean. I wish this restaurant much success.
The food is why I won't be back because it's simply not very interesting or flavorful. It probably suits the taste of many Vermoners because traditionally Vermonters can't handle spice (aside from salt). The food here is shockingly bland, the most flavorless Mexican food I've ever had. It's not even Tex-Mex, it's on a whole new level.
I had high hopes since it is owned and operated by Mexicans, that there was going to be some authenticity. I had been to a couple of places in New Hampshire and Massachusetts recently that were out of this world (nice family style places with great menus, not fancy, not expensive) and I guess I was hoping for a similar experience.
Still, people will flock here...
