I finally got to try this place after wanting to go for months because my availability was not the same as the hours of the restaurant. I am happy that they have changed the hours to the restaurant so more people can come.
Let’s get into the review: The place is very cute on the inside, it’s new and hopping on a Saturday morning. I liked how busy it was. I can tell it’s popular.
However, this is where things take a turn.
My husband and I tried sampled a couple of dishes today. All of which were unfortunately lukewarm or cold by the time they reached our table. We had poutine- which was the warmest thing we received and that was lukewarm at best. I had crepes, eggs, and bacon. I was very disappointed that my eggs and crepes were cold and that they did not follow the order note for crispy bacon as it was underdone for my liking.
On our way out, I noticed several dishes sitting on the window of the kitchen waiting to be picked up by a waiter or waitress. There was no one in sight and the food was sitting there. I am sure some of which were sitting for minutes probably just like ours were, and I can guess that’s why they were lukewarm and cold. I hope that the staff can work on communicating in the kitchen and maybe timing to go and get food.
I will be back to try the restaurant again, but I think I will choose a quieter time where this...
Read moreThe food is fine for diner type fare, but my recent experience has prompted me to give this restaurant a mediocre rating. I am still bewildered about the pricing of my tuna sandwich. On the menu, there is a classic tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato on a bakery roll for $9.95. Also on the menu, is a tuna melt which is a grilled tuna sandwich with cheese on rye bread for $10.95. They actually included tomato on the tuna melt of an individual in my party for no cost. I asked if they could do a cold tuna sandwich without cheese on rye. Very simple! The waitress said yes and asked if I would like lettuce and tomato. I said sure, assuming these items would be included in the price. When the bill came, I was charged $11.95. $2.00 more than the classic and $1.00 more than the melt which contained cheese and tomato, and required grilling. When I inquired, the waitress said there there was an upcharge for lettuce and tomato?!?! The logic makes no sense to me, and left a very bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended)! I know it's only a few dollars, but I dont like being treated so dismissively. I have eaten here several times, as well as bringing friends and family. I dont intend to return. It's unfortunate as it's a convenient, comfortable spot with...
Read moreI am so glad I found this place. I know its been opened since 2021 but the previous establishment was just so-so, but in seeing social media posts about their various daily specials finally decided to give it a try. Though orignally doubtful, I was assured by the friendly server on the phone that their November Turkey dinner special was actual roasted turkey. I ordered pickup and everything was ready quickly, food tightly packed and presented neatly; the dinner was delicious! I could tell everything was homemade, from the roasted tender turkey to the stuffing, mashed potatoes and even fresh corn. I know the owner must be italian as it tasted very much like my grandmothers cooking! It was originally opened as a "diner" but from the dinners we got the quality is more to that of a higher end restaurant. Even the sides-chili and chicken soup were fresh and tasty. I know they have a good breakfast following, but working and living local I plan to stop in for lunch and do take home dinners when they are open late in the week. The price points are very reasonable for families and kids with a nice variety on the menu suited for all. I will definitely be back and kudos to the owner in making and continuing this place a...
