Indian Food At It's Best!
We have been a customer of this restaurant for over 3+ years. We found these guys by chance Pre-Covid back in 2018 and could not have been more happier. Even though this is run by people of Nepali origin, they make one of the best Indian food under the sun. Their spicy level can go from almost no spicy at level 1 to very tasty at level 5 (medium) to burning and sweating at level 10 (hot), so be sure to choose your spice level wisely (They are very capable of suggesting the right spicy level for you after some conversation). We being vegetarians probably have eaten all of the vegetarian food on their menu at a spicy level of medium for most part except for Saag Paneer, we would order as spicy (hot). Our absolute favorite is their Chilli Paneer and Navarathan Korma at medium spicy level.
I cannot "Thank" Banu enough, who would deliver our order during the past year (every now and then). He is by far the most personable guy we have met in a while now.
Now that we have moved out of Connecticut recently, we definitely miss having food from the "Himalaya Restaurant". We wish them all the best for the years to come. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely be visiting this restaurant, no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered from this restaurant on ubereats due to my usual place being closed. When my food arrived I was confused to see one container of ātikka sauceā (essentially watered down tomato sauce) even though I ordered two chicken tikka masala meals. There was two dishes that had a few pieces of chicken each but were mostly packed with onion to fill space. I called the restaurant thinking they accidentally forgot one of the sauces for this and was immediately screamed at by the owner that that was how much they give you for two orders. At $16 per meal thatās insane. I also ordered garlic naan which was the same price as most Indian restaurants but this restaurant gives you ONE piece of bread where other restaurants give you a few pieces of the same size. My galub jamun tasted and had the texture like it had been sitting out to dry for a week and my ras malai despite being $5 came in a TINY Dixie sample cup. Iām not normally one to complain or leave bad reviews but the prices of this place along with the restaurants attitude when I genuinely thought a mistake was made really just put a bad taste in my mouth. Donāt go here āthere are a bunch of other places that are cheaper AND...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExtremely disappointing experience with this restaurant's management. I was double charged for a half-tray of biryani--once when I placed the order and again when my friend picked it up. Instead of promptly addressing the mistake, the owner made the reimbursement process unnecessarily difficult, dragging it out for three months. He repeatedly demanded that both of us be present, requested bank statements, IDs, and even insisted on paper statements mailed from the bank--completely disregarding the fact that we live in a paperless world in 2025.
Whatās worse, there was no courtesy or remorse from the owner for the mistake made by his staff. A responsible business takes accountability and values its customers, something this place clearly lacks. There are plenty of great restaurants like Agaās and Karachi Restaurant that not only serve excellent food but also prioritize customer service. I would strongly recommend choosing them over this place if you value a hassle-free experience and respect...
