Read moreI truly wish I was able to leave this establishment 0 stars but the site requires you leave one. We just visited this restaurant to grab a quick bite because we were celebrating my husband's birthday and had dinner plans at 6pm. My husband, my two children (age 6 and 4) and I ordered tacos. We waited over a hour and we never received our food. The waitress finally put two tacos in front of me and apologized for the wait....She asked if I wanted my sour cream now or when she brings out the remainder of the food.....I mistakingly told her to bring the sour cream with the remainder of the food because I assumed that the rest of the tacos, rice and refried beans would be coming out shortly but I was wrong. Another fifteen minutes went by and I am now staring at cold tacos and 0 sour cream. My husband asked the waitress what is taking so long and she apologized again and said the cooks are working on a big order. We informed the waitress that we have to leave and could not wait any longer because we had other plans....and she did nothing to offer any type of customer service. She charged us for the three mango drinks that we ordered and I was in shock that they didn't have the decency to give us at minimum....the drinks on the house. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They could not get a simple order of tacos together and charged us for the drinks after a hour and 30 min wait. Terrible customer service....I truly can't say anything about the food because we never got a chance...
Read moreMy wife and I are from San Diego and we have been searching for good Taco Shops in the area. La Nueva Forgota would match up with any Taco Shop in San Diego. We started off with a Chihuahua Cheese quesadilla and chips & guacamole, both were Excellent! We both had Tacos, and got the deal 4 for 10 bucks, such a great deal with the size that they are. The Al Pastor was the best I ever had, the Carnitas was very good also. We also both tried the Carne Enchilada, spicy pork, we have never tried this before and it was quite good. We also tried a Cencina (Salted beef steak) and the Bisteak, the Cecina was very good. A staple in San Diego for Tacos is Carne Asada and the Bisteak was disappointing, we asked and talked to the waiter and we explained and the Bisteak is prepared the same. We found out this Mexican is influenced by Mexico City where as San Diego is influenced by Baja Mexico. Hands down this is one of the best places we have found since we have moved the prices, portions and flavors are top notch. I was concerned because reviews on here complained about the service, we had a pleasant waiter and are food was promptly served and this was on a Friday night during dinner rush. We will most definitely be back. We gave it 5...
