Saw a YT video on Millys that was said this pizza sells out every day in 45 min. It was about 28 min long. By the time I was finished watching it I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one. That was about two weeks ago and today I finally reserved my pizza. Millys only makes a certain amount of pizza every day. Roughly 70 from what I gather so reserving one is an absolute must. Orders begin online at 8 AM every day so there is NO phoning in for pizza asap. That said, this pizza is unlike any I’ve had. I reserved the Onlypans for my first pizza and it was very good. I have to say, I was a little underwhelmed but certainly NOT disappointed. The reason? The crust. It’s definitely not tavern or thin crust and it isn’t deep dish as I know it. It’s more along the lines of a slightly thicker dominos. Fluffy and chewy. The toppings however are superb. The ricotta cheese, pepperoni, pesto, sauce cheese etc combine beautifully on the topside. It’s like the pizza has different zones of flavor. The center is juiciest, richest mouthful of pizza. Then as you eat outwards towards the edge you encounter the ribbons of pesto that up the ante on flavor. The areas around the dollops of ricotta are sweet and delicious and at the edge you’ll have a crispy, crunchy bite from the caramelized cheese around the pizza and this is where the base flavor resides. Doughy with hint of cheese/sauce, minimal toppings in the “edge” zone. In a nutshell, pricey $35 without tip, certainly a very good pizza but some people absolutely prefer tavern or dislike “kiddy” pizza for its heavy doughy and limpy crust and may be turned off by Millys due to the crust and cost of the pizza. The toppings is where this pizza shined brightly. Very unique in the pizza world and I will be...

The pizza is very unique, nothing else like it in the area. Dough is crispy on the edges, very chewy and flavorful inside. Tomato sauce is yummy, very flavorful and not too sweet. Perfect amount of cheese, toppings were super high quality and creative.
We got two pizza - a cheese for the kids (Make Your Own, we added the fresh mozz to the plain pie), and then we did the Untitled #1 with olives. It was WAY too much food for 4 people, but it heats up super well on the pizza stone in the oven!
There are a lot of pizza places around town, but not too many truly excellent ones. We were regulars at Fiore before they closed, we also love Bertolli's and Falco's (for tavern style), and Flapjack for more of a wood fired style pie. Milly's definitely fills a niche in the area. It's unlike any pizza I've had around Chicagoland, but definitely a new favorite!!
Do not be deterred by the "order ahead" policy. They are a super small crew, and it's hard as hell to run a specialty restaurant like this these days ... they use super high-quality, expensive ingredients and this is the model they came up with that allows them to have a healthy work/life balance, and run their business with a small team on a budget. If you want to try one of the best pizzas in the area, go ahead and place your order a few days ahead. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!
Congrats Milly's Team! Welcome to the...
Read moreI changed my review after the owner contacted me to my cell number directly; unprofessional in my opinion. I paid $70 for a pizza. For all that money it was way too small of a pizza and the ingredients were nothing special. The crust is a glorified focaccia with very inconsistent browning. I could’ve made this at home for the same dollar amount and have larger portions on top of the actual ingredients left over. Maybe I just had bad experience but I’ve rarely cared enough to write a bad review. I corrected a previous remark I made about their sizing, my mistake. However it still stands that for a place that makes you wait a week just to order what you get is ridiculous. Gave this 4 stars just to support local business, even the subpar ones, but I’m changing it back to one because after telling all my friends and coworkers about this experience they agreed 70 for a pizza after an hour drive is ridiculous. The only thing bigger than my disappointment in this place is the owners inflated...
