JUST NO !!!! A tragic waste of $38 dollars
I Ordered a large Singapore Noodle and a Combination Appetizer plate composed of 2 eggrolls, 2 crab Rangoon, 4pc of chicken wing 2 flats & 2 drums, 2 beef sticks, 2 pc fried shrimp.☹️
I ordered through GRUBHUB that is also another "bone to pick" on another day.😐
Firstly, I called prior to placing the order to clarify ingredients used in the noodles as they were omitted in the description. I must say the young lady who answered the phone was very accommodating and pleasant, I believe the failure was on the part of the cook.
The Singapore Noodles from the numerous restaurants I have enjoyed them from are pretty consistent with a few variations of ingredients here and there. It consists of rice noodles, shrimp ( small or large), BBQ pork slivers or pieces, bean sprouts, onions ( green/white or both, Peabody, carrots, egg, seasoned in curry and hot with chili pepper flakes.....
I have never tasted what I tasted today from Singapore Noodles....it tasted like it was the beginning of another dish or the wok was not cleaned well and I was tasting the remnants of a previously prepared order 🤢 so much so that I could hardly detect the curry flavor which is a prominent flavor in Singapore noodles IYKYK. there were no carrot pieces at all instead there was broccoli and pieces of wilted green onion ( probably going bad).
The Combination platter ....everybody knows that Chinese Fried Chicken wings have a distinct taste....these were old and not flavorful and did not smell or taste like chicken, the Crab Rangoon was just clumps of cream cheese fried ( no onion or imitation crabmeat), the shrimp were donut shaped with so much flour you had to eat through or peel to find again flavorless shrimp. I gave the beef sticks to the stray cats I often feed we will see if they remain in the bowls or not....I'm scared to see 🙄 the egg rolls were just eggrolls. Again a waste...
Read moreI give 1 star the food isnt to bad id give that a 3. Overall i give it a 1 star rating because of the service. I enjoy the food and its fair price but ive had a few encounters with the delivery service they provide.. i always manage to have someone rude that complains about how much the tip i give them and ya know what if my bill is only 18 bucks and you charge a delivery fee i dont think 5 bucks as a tip is bad.. but what was worse when the man got a cash tip and i signed the recipt and scrated out wrote cash tip by where if id like to tip he tried to tell me off and have the nerve to ask for my card number..ohh no no no.. and even better after dealing with that call the resturant and wanted to just let someone know thats not right how he had acted and what he was trying to do but no care in the world and thought it was right.. so i wont order pick up or anything from this place of buisness id rather pay more for better food and service elsewhere since thats happenes to me a few times...
Read moreAverage/below average. Food is ready quick and kept hot; soups are adequate. Online menu says free crab rangoon with $20 purchase; over the phone they said it's with a $25 purchase. Don't order anything with mushrooms -- they use canned mushrooms! No straw mushroom, not even white button mushrooms. Pot stickers are fried, not steamed. No black vinegar in the pot sticker sauce, just soy. Ingredients are the absolute cheapest available. There is better Chinese food available -- like To Your Taste at Harlem/Riverside Drive, across from the Berwyn Public Library; also Potsticker House by 31st/Halsted in Bridgeport if you want northern Chinese cuisine. People who don't know real Chinese food may think Wanda's is great. But when you've had the real thing in Chinatown/Bridgeport, at restaurants with ethnic Chinese patrons, Wanda's is definitely average/below average. It is only a last resort if I'm sick and need hot & sour soup. Otherwise I'd rather drive to...
