This particular restaurant (and I use this term loosely) warrants a 5 star rating in terms of overall experience. Although the quality of the food and cleanliness of the store actually rate less than zero ( and I've lived in mainland China) the comedic value of the employees put this dining experience over the top. We were actually looking for hidden cameras think we were actually being punked or we just walked into a new sitcom being filmed. Every person in the place would have a starting role in this new sitcom from the grumpy fry cook to the waitress and the busboys. We should have known by the name displayed on the building, it read "affle house". What a perfect name! In our episode, an argument breaks out between Clyde (the fry cook) and Madge (waitress) while the prep cooks and busboys provide comedic relief by whistling something unidentifiable or sloshing buckets floor cleaner under the food prep tables. The discard food under the tables looked cleaner that the orders being slapped together. We were waiting for a giant rat to come clean the area, but it was getting a bath under the prep tables. Needless to say we scraped off anything that wasn't cooked to at least 200 degrees. The food didn't make us sick, but we'll have memories for a lifetime. If a new show is created next season, I'd be willing to come back on set for an episode but don't be offended if I...
Read moreASK FOR T.J.
While I'm all about being patient with new people, our waitress Lauren was not quite ready for prime time. Not only did my wife and I have to explain our order to her, the cook had to ask us if she called it out correctly. Sadly, she did not. To make matters worse, she begin working an order of ten people while simultaneously trying to answer questions from the cook about our order. Thankfully, she was working with another server named T.J., who did his best to help her get things right. Still, there's only so much you can do to help someone ill -equipped to handle the task at hand. Compounding the situation was the fact that the cook was new as well, which meant that the initial attempt at our order wasn't on point. However, T.J. stepped in again to get things right. He did all of this while working his own customers, at the same time. He did this, all while Lauren took a seat to figure out just what the party of ten had ordered, so that she could give the order to the cook. This effort went south as well, with several recalls, and again, T.J. to the rescue. Needless to say, when we were ready to leave, we thanked the person who actually took care...
Read moreMy husband and I went here for a late night dinner. We had to wait for the next shift to come in to get served, so we sat for 15 minutes. They were low staffed, so I’m not upset about the wait. What happened during the wait makes me want to never return: while we were waiting, there was an employee who was cussing, being rude to fellow employees and customers, burping out loud (very obnoxiously may I add), and any dishes that were dropped on the floor was put straight back onto a rack/shelf. She made it very well known that she did not want us customers eating there (other families came in after us) We told her many times we wanted to eat inside and will wait for the next shift, yet she still said she’s just going to have our order to go. This woman, Emie is her name, baffled me with her behavior. So long as she works there, we won’t be returning. I hate to leave such a bad complaint but I was, and still am,...
