visited tuesday 5/13; music was loud (as was indicated on a since vanished review). I asked person at counter if music was always that loud and he responded somewhat indignantly "always." There were only two other patrons present, both seniors as my wife and I. This person did not even offer to lower the volume a bit so we could at least try the food (which is why you advertise isn't it?) Do yourselves a favor and walk across the street and go to "OFF THE HOOK" as we did ------a cleaner, quieter place with a full bar. If you don't want to cross the street, at least go next door to DIFEBO'S market. They may survive the summer tourist crowd and, hopefully not much longer. LET'S SEE IF THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW VANISHES LIKE SOME OTHERS.
There you have it Bethany Beach; a business owner who should have stayed in OC., not customer focused--they are content to to have four potential customers walk out rather than try to accommodate them. Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Surfin Betty’s for a while. Yes, they’re overpriced, but I tolerated it because I’d rather support local businesses.
On my last order, I accidentally placed it to their Ocean City location (which I didn’t even know existed). I realized the mistake immediately and called to cancel—but was told flatly, “We can’t do that.” Based on the tone and my understanding of how online orders work, that translated to: “I don’t care enough to put in a little effort to help you out.”
So, I drove all the way to the Ocean City location to get my food—and it wasn’t even ready. They told me, “You said you wanted to cancel your order, so we didn’t make it.” Did they seriously think I was just going to let them keep my $100 and get nothing in return?
As someone who values loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, that loyalty won’t be returned to them. I guess they won’t care, since they don’t seem to care how they treat...
Read moreI don’t mind getting a menu and seating myself. I don’t mind going up and placing the order and paying for an advance. What I do mine is that before any kind of service is rendered it’s asking for a tip. And that’s why there was no tip.
I got the Bettie burger and it was really good. I liked it. My friend got the the jam, bacon burger, his was overcooked. He didn’t think the pasta salad was anything to write home about either. I subbed the french fries and I’m glad I did. I really liked them. We just got a couple of regular sodas because it’s too hot to drink liquor, but I must complement them on the full range of beers, wines, and liquors that they offered. I appreciated how they came by and asked how everything was and I told my friend he should’ve mentioned that the burger was overcooked, but he decided not to that was on him. Only three stars because the ask for tip in advance annoyed me. What if the food and service was bad? Ask for...
