Let's face it, McDonald's is McDonald's. I don't know if any of them can actually get 5 stars. This one on Fort Couch Road probably comes the closest in our area. I swear some of these negative reviews (not all of them) are confused with the other McDonald's in the area on Library Road. There are two within about 3-5 miles of each other and you have to be careful when you review one or the other because I almost gave my negative review to the one on Fort Couch Road and had to double check which address I was reviewing.
Do I sometimes have a less-than-perfect experience at this McDonald's? Sure. But that's on a busier or off day. Typically the drive-thru moves fairly quickly, the staff is cordial to very nice and my food is hot and quickly served. I will concede that I have not been inside because I'm mainly a drive-through person. I cannot comment on those conditions. When I have read other people's comments who gave one or two stars because they were missing a sauce packet or something, I'm very sorry they had that experience, but if those things bothered them, then they should ABSOLUTELY never go to the McDonald's on Library Road! The Fort Couch Road McDonald's is like heaven compared to that one. Maybe that's why I'm more forgiving. It's because I've seen and been to hell personally. Lol.
I was fairly certain that the Library Road McDonald's was run by Rice Industries and the Fort Couch Road McDonald's is not. That's why I was wondering if people other people who reviewed this location did so by accident.
I just wanted to clarify things because some of these reviews sound SO much like the other McDonald's to a T and not like this one. No restaurant is perfect so I'm sure some of the negative reviews apply, but some of the truly bad reviews I would almost bet on my life that it's the Library Road McDonald's. If you haven't been to this one yet, give this one a fair...
Read moreThis is a nice McDonald's to take a small child to. The PlayPlace is older (it has not changed much since I was nine or so, and I'm in my thirties now,) but still a lot of fun, and having the PlayPlace in a separate room means the rest of the restaurant is more quiet and peaceful than some places. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is as good as fast food ever is, and for a busy parent who just wants to eat a meal, maybe see some friends and wear out her toddler so the kid sleeps through the night, this place is delightfully affordable and has everything you'd need, nothing you don't.
It has definitely aged in the past few years. The pretty renovations of the main part of the restaurant are nice, while the PlayPlace has generally been kept in a state of function over form. It looks a little stark now that some of the fun features of the Nineties have been removed (why did we ever do away with ball pits, they're fun,) and there were a few buckets on the floor under what looked like leak-stained ceiling tiles, but the PlayPlace still entertains children like the massive preschooler Habitrail it is. I played there myself and now I take my daughter to play there when we're in town. Every place we loved ages, takes wear and needs updating, and it'll be nice to see how McDonald's refurbishes this PlayPlace when time and funds allow. The playground part is in fine shape, it's only the room it's in that could do with a bit of decorating, and trust me, no mom of an active toddler minds a dull room when the contents of that room make...
Read moreI have never given a single star until this evening. My son and I went through the drive thru at 8:27 (it's on the receipt) and ordered 2 meals and a 4 pc Mc nugget with BBQ sauce and went to the first window. A young woman said $17.06 and I gave her my credit card, she seemed nice enough. So I proceeded to the 2nd window and a young man started to give me a medium drink, I told him we ordered 2 large meals. The young man then proceeded to tell me" I'm going to fire that girl" slammed the drinks down on the machine and went to confront her, quite a few moments pass and he finally returned to get large drinks then 2 bags at that point he had not spoken to me, I said thank you and he stumbled to say goodnight.
I have now returned home on the far side of the city, only to find no Mc nuggets, BBQ sauce no nuggets. The receipt shows I ordered them (2.39) for 4 mc nuggets WOW ! I sure as heck would never pay .60¢ for a Mc nugget let alone 4. So I decided to call them and tell them about my order, whoever answered the phone was apologetic and and I told him I didn't want anything I just want to let them know and tell them that they need to get the orders right especially the drive thru. The gentleman said he would be able to give me the Mc nuggets if I would be able to get back. I live nowhere near the store and I sure as heck won't be back.
You never get a second chance to make a...
