5 Stars – An Exceptional Culinary Gem in an Unexpected Place! Palmyra Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine is hands down one of the best discoveries I’ve made in a long time, and believe it or not, it’s tucked away in the South Hills Village Mall Food Court! This hidden gem is delivering fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious Mediterranean food that rivals (or even surpasses) many standalone restaurants. From the moment we approached the counter, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind and passionate owners. As we spoke with them, it quickly became clear why the food here tastes so fresh and vibrant, every single dish is prepared on-site using only fresh ingredients. They proudly shared their freezer is empty, which says everything you need to know about their commitment to quality. No shortcuts, no processed or frozen items, just real, homemade, family style cooking made with care. Palmyra is not a chain, but a local, family owned and operated restaurant, and that love and authenticity is evident in every bite. We had various dishes including the Lamb and Beef Combo Platter, Lamb & Beef Shawarma Wrap, Falafel Platter, Hummus, Pita Bread and a variety of homemade sauces, and every single item and bite was bursting with flavor. The portions were incredibly generous, and we ended up taking home enough food for another meal or two, making it not just delicious, but also a great value. One of the highlights was their homemade baklava. Rich, flaky, perfectly sweetened, and made with a touch of love, it was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. What’s even more exciting is that Palmyra won’t be staying in the food court much longer. The owners shared their plans to relocate to a standalone location in the Bethel Park, which is absolutely the right move. This level of quality and care deserves its own space, and I have no doubt the new location will thrive once word gets out. In a world full of fast food and cookie cutter chains, Palmyra is a refreshing reminder of what truly great food is all about, authenticity, family, freshness, and heart. Do yourself a favor and give this amazing local business a try. Whether you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or simply love discovering high quality food made with integrity, Palmyra is a must-visit.

Loved this spot. Absolutely delicious and some of the best Middle Eastern food in the Pittsburgh area. Worth a relatively long drive. Everything is so fresh and definitely homemade. I tried out their falafel wrap, chicken platter with yellow rice, and baklava. The chicken platter was absolutely amazing. For just $13, the price is unbeatable and the portion is amazing. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. Not stringy like is many other spots. The vegetables they served on the side were crisp and fresh. The rice was soft, buttery, and surprisingly flavorful. I really enjoyed every part of this dish. And, the garlic sauce was the cherry on top: also so fresh, perfect level of creaminess, and the perfect accompaniment to the chicken. The falafel wrap was nearly equally good. The falafel was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Very flavorful. It even had some pickled vegetables along with it. The wrap itself was alright and a bit more sauce would have been nice, but it was still an excellent wrap due to the falafel being so good. The baklava here is some of the best I’ve had in Pittsburgh. They included the perfect amount of syrup. A great portion. Not too sweet but still hits the spot. Definitely recommend. All in all, this is one of my new favorite Middle Eastern spots in Pittsburgh. Very flavorful and fresh food that is clearly homemade. Literally everything I tried was delicious!

Today I got the Falafel Platter. The Falafel was perfect today; crispy on the outside with a soft center. Not too hard or crispy like some other places who usually overcook theirs. As for the rice, you can never go wrong there no matter which one you choose. :-) The included salad is great as well. I’m personally not a fan of the dressing, because I eat my salads plain, and the salad is pre-mixed with the dressing. Regardless I’ll still eat it! Palmyra is by far one of the healthier options you can choose from in the mall. 5/5. Service isn’t bad, all my interactions with the employees so far have been pleasant. For people who go through hundreds of customers in a day, working in a MALL, they are doing a great job and are incredibly friendly. 👍 5/5. I want to give 3/5 on atmosphere because it’s in the MALL, the worst possible place you could possibly try to be comfortable in… But that isn’t the fault of Palmyra itself, they just happen to be located here and so I can’t blame them for that. The mall just sucks! So, 4/5 for atmosphere. Sorry Palmyra, luv you guys! Eat from here and keep them in business. I’ve seen several companies come and go from that specific vending counter over the years, and I really hope Palmyra is here to stay. Let’s get rid of one of the TWO Asian eateries instead. We could really use a Taco Bell comeback.

First and foremost, I love supporting local business. Palmyra was a first try for me and definitely will not be my last. My doctor had told me not long ago to get in The Mediterranean Diet, and Palmyra was the first place that came to mind.

The female that waited on me was very knowledgeable about the food, she was very professional, and she offered me a sample of the chicken dish that was displayed in the window that I had inquired about out. Also I’ve walked by the place numerous times, but had already eaten else where. After trying sample, Palmyra is my new go to. It’s healthy, delicious, and most of all, very fresh.

I could not believe how big the portion was that she gave me. She definitely gave me my moneys worth that’s for sure. The dish consisted of huge chunks of all white meat chicken breast, with green & red bell peppers, white onions, and in what seemed to be a delicious garlic sauce. It tasted so amazing that I could go for some right now!

It was served with your choice of rice. I love saffron, so that’s what she gave me. I also ordered the falafel with lamb, and again, it was delicious. The pita bread taste so good! I even got a side of pita bread on the side for my other dish that I ordered.

I only know of the one location at South Hills Village Mall. So when you’re in the area and want something fresh and delicious with a friendly staff, I highly recommend...
