EDIT: 9/22 Went there two more times and I was so happy to see there was a shift change!!! Back to having polite people who appear to be happy. 5/5 stars!!

5/5 stars for the ice cream but 2/5 for the person working there at the front.

This is now the 4th time where I’ve been treated to rude service :( the blonde girl who works the front has ignored outright questions multiple times such as “how big is a small/kiddie?”. Easy things she can just say “oh, it’s this size.” Simply ignoring me and my family despite obviously hearing us. When we finished paying she didn’t even say thank you to the tip we left, just “finish the prompt on the screen.” Very abrupt and very rude. She has also been rude to us when we come for pick up. We will order online and wait by the pick up window. She will come to the window, see us waiting there, make eye contact and then shut the window in our face. This has happened to me twice and my father once. My father nearly opened the window back up to tell her off. He’s also over heard the girl trash talk customers behind their backs about how they were “mean to her”. It seems like they were mean to her due to her rudeness.

Not only that, but yesterday I witnessed a girl having a potential allergic reaction to an ice cream flavor. She was allergic to nuts and started to feel the effects of her allergy. She went to the window and asked if the ice cream had nuts and at first the same girl ignored her until the young girl having the allergy had to put her hand In the window to get her attention. The worker didn’t really show much compassion to the young girl and didn’t even offer her a cup of water or even a different flavor, despite her having a reaction.

I really love Dr mikes. I’ve been coming here for years and I’m so used to the kind people who work here. It’s sad that now when I come here I potentially dread being rudely attended to even though I’m just trying to get simple ice cream...

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS!!!!! Admittedly awesome ice cream but MEAN PEOPLE!!! My 12-year-old daughter remembered how delicious the ice cream was last time we visited CT and at 4:20 on the afternoon before we were leaving to go back to FL after Thanksgiving she asked me if we could get some. I called and the girl told me they were open until 5:00 so I raced over and arrived at 4:42 just in time to see an employee bringing in the "Open" sign. When I asked if they were still open she said "Sorry we just closed." I said that they had told me they were open until 5:00 and she replied that her manager had just called and told her to close. I told her my daughter remembered how yummy the ice cream was and could we just get a pint to go but she still said no. I was on the verge of tears and pleaded with her and asked why did she tell me they were open until 5:00? She just shrugged her shoulders and closed the door. So please don't be tempted by the yummy ice cream, don't give your business to these...

There are so many things about Dr. Mike's Ice cream that I love, but the bottom line for me is, simply, that Dr. Mike's has made me fall in love with ice cream again!! I'd begun to lose interest in ice cream until I made my way to Dr. Mike's a couple of summers ago. The ice cream has the perfect sweetness and a great "chew" and the flavors they offer are diverse, fun and always so tasty. A few of my favorites are Chocolate Lace, Coconut, Black Raspberry and especially Peanut Butter Oreo, and I've even come to enjoy so many flavors I would never have tried before (helllooo Maple Walnut!) because everything they make is so perfectly delicious! Friends and family are beginning to look forward to Dr. Mike's for dessert at our gatherings, so we never wait until summer.
