We tried this latest version of a restaurant inhabiting the old Opera House in downtown Bethel, which has changed names/menus/identities several times since the old Greenwood's closed.
We were hopeful the new place would pivot away from the succession of short-lived eateries with expensive, pretentious menus trying to create an "experience."
The service was very good. The place wasn't terribly crowded so there was no wait for seating. They have a full bar and a pretty interesting cocktail menu but the draft beer selection is limited and fairly generic.
For our meal we started with the Tex Mex Brussels Nachos. (Yeah, I know.) But they were tasty. They were not, however, nachos. They were 6 or 7 seasoned brussels sprouts, some onions and a sprinkle of beans piled on half a dozen tortilla chips. For $15.
From there we went on to entrees - a burger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was pretty good. The chicken sandwich was... unremarkable. Not bad. Not anything in particular.
Honestly, the chicken sandwich kind of sums up our experience overall. Not bad, but not something we'd be in a hurry to try again given...

The service was outstanding warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. And the cocktails? Incredible. I had the lychee martini, and it was easily one of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time.
Me and four friends started with appetizers, and I have to highlight the corn ribs and whipped truffle ricotta both were out of this world!!!!
For dinner, I had the chicken crunch sandwich on the most amazing focaccia bread, with a pesto pink sauce that took it to the next level MUST TRY!
We were all seriously impressed and already planning our next visit. Bethel has never seen anything like this place total gem! Menu has something...
Read moreMy husband and I had a really lovely date night where we sat at the bar, had some cocktails, oysters, and a leisurely dinner. Anna the bartender was really welcoming and attentive and let us take our time. The cocktail menu was simple but inspired/interesting and I would love to go back and try some more from the menu. My husband had the bees knees and I tried the spicy olive martini. Both were delicious. Also really enjoyed the oysters, fresh apple salad, and baby back ribs that we shared. Looking forward to coming back for date night again and trying more things from the...
