Portofino's is one of our favorite restaurants in Bethel. Louie, Rocco, Besa & Alide are like family to us so we couldn't imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else. They were super attentive to every detail of the menu and set-up from start to finish. The food was superb-everyone is still raving about it and of course Louie's famous cocktails were on point. The space was transformed with beautiful linens and a buffet set up that was roomy and easy to navigate for our guests. Alide and Besa worked so hard to make the tables beautiful and made my vision come to life easily. They also cleared out the bar area tables to make a dance floor and space for our photo booth! we had almost 70 people comfortably in their space. Finally, at the end of the night when everyone needed to refuel for the dance party, Rocco came through with late night pizza to soak up some of the drinks and keep us dancing. It was a perfect night-exceeded our expectations and we cant thank the Portofino crew enough. You will not be disappointed, they treat everyone like their own family because they truly care about all and it shows in all their efforts. Please...
Read moreThis place is wretched. It's a cramped, dimmly lit, over priced American style Italian steakhouse. Their menu is super dated and poorly planned out. They have no vegetarian options on the menu to start. They didn't even have a simple pain pasta dish with red sauce available. I asked if they could do a pasta dish without meat and they gave me an sauceless mess with some mixed frozen veggies poured on top. They charged me $22 bucks for the microwaved meal I was given. Not to mention my friend had to send his steak back for it not being cooked properly. When he got it back he said it still wasn't right but he wasn't going to send it back again. I try to be very understanding in these uncertain times but this restaurant just ain't it. This spot might be great for the 60+ crowd who want bland faux Italian but your honestly better of going to Olive Garden, a sentence I never thought I...
Read moreI was so excited at the quality of service at Portofino, that I totally forgot to take pictures of our dinners. I will update this review next time we are here which will be VERY SOON, and I will remember to document with photos. Until I had some dietary restrictions, my husband and I used to go out to eat three and four times a week. We looked at the Portofino menu, and decided to see what adaptations they could make to meet my dietary needs. Our welcome to the restaurant started with big hugs from Leslie, the bartender whom we knew from another local restaurant. Upon meeting Alide, our server and owner of the restaurant, everything was smooth sailing. She adapted everything with ease and made ordering a breeze. The food was absolutely delicious and so reasonably priced. The atmosphere had a great local vibe. Loved this place and can't wait to come...
