TL;DR: correct your technical issues - don't send customers a text saying that the order is ready until the order is actually ready.
Long version: Placed an order for pickup via slice. Got a text alert that the order was ready for pickup 15 min before the start of the estimated time frame. I arrived 7 min later, told the guy I was picking up for [name], and he said it was coming right up.
They were busy (friday evening), so I was willing to be patient. I waited for a few minutes after watching others get their orders and then approached the counter, telling them that my order was ready and paid for and that I could just grab it and go. He said it was still cooking 🫤.
I waited at least another 10 minutes, and finally, it was finished. The guy held it up to me to make sure it was correct, and I told him it was fine. But, like, shouldn't he know if it's done and correct? Idk, rubbed me the wrong way.
I tried to explain that I received a text saying that it was ready, and that's why I showed up when I did. He tried telling me it was something to do with deliveries (but that had nothing to do with my order). I tried to clarify and let him know so that other customers wouldn't have to wait so long after getting their "ready" texts. He tried explaining more and apologizing, but it didn't seem like he really understood me.
Thankfully, the pizza was ready within the original, estimated time frame. Also, it's a small place and it was very hot in there, so waiting that long was painful on top of wasting my time.
I don't like ragging on small businesses, but I thought I'd be as constructive as possible bc I want to see...
Read moreGoing to start by saying my family has been going here for years now. We love the pizza. Never had any issues. Yesterday I picked up a pizza, and asked for some chili flakes on the side (I always do). I was met with a rude remark “If you like peppers, you should get a big container for your house”. I thought I misheard and asked, and he repeated the comment as he scooped out the flakes and rudely handed them over. 2 other customers were also in the shop, so I just took the pizza and left. I paid about $30 for the pizza and was surprised they’d make an issue for maybe 25-30 cents worth of chili flakes (container included), he could have charged me if it was an issue rather than be rude about it. I added a picture, it’s about 1/3 of a small container. Most pizzerias keep them on tables anyways, like salt and pepper. When ordering coffee, I wonder if the person who made the comment brings the sugar from home? Absolutely ridiculous way to behave with a regular customer who orders 1-2 times per week, and sometimes even has...
Read moreWe've ordered food from here a few times in the past years usually pizza, most recently were two calzones which were decent. Today we ordered 2 grinders, one Meatball Parm and one Genoa Salami. The MBP grinder roll was burnt, the sauce had huge chunks of tomatoes and the meatballs were what seemed like big slices of meatloaf with a mushy texture, My husband ate 1/2 of 1 half and then removed the meatballs and tomato chunks and just ate the bread. The other 1/2 went in the trash. Is it possible to mess up a simple salami grinder… Yes, it is... never in my life have I seen such thick slices of salami on a grinder.... Never have I seen such thick slices of salami. Was someone just too lazy to slice it thin? It wasn't a quality salami either, tasted like it was turkey based. It went in the trash as well. I was thankful for the container of dressing that came with it, I put that on my $10 LTO&C grinder, made me a tiny bit less disappointed. Not sure if we'll order...
