La Diferencia — Restaurant in Bethel

My son and i really wanted to try this new Mexican restaurant in town. The staff were extremely courteous and attentive. Our server was on top of things and i want to be clear that any criticism i have for the restaurant does not reflect on her. In any case, the salsa seemed like it was made from canned tomato sauce and chunks of veggies. I had flautas which were more than a touch dry. In addition the refried beans were over-salted and the rice was somehow both gummy and dry. My son had beef enchiladas with red sauce. The sauce tasted canned. He politely ate one of 3, then gulped down a soda to get the flavor out of his mouth. We both really wanted this to be a new favorite, but unless they improve the quality of the food, i cant imagine wanting to go back. Its a shame because it has nice decor, a great location, and...

The food was great, but I'm very disappointed by whoever charged me a $7 tip on my receipt even though I crossed off the tip amount and wrote the exact amount owed to my order. I left a $10 cash tip which is why I drew a line on my receipt! Don't wrongfully charge and help yourself to a tip that I did not consent to! I was given no other solutions to this wrong charge aside from contacting the manager who is said to be there on Wednesday . It's only $7, but I feel wronged as a customer who genuinely appreciated the food and tipped cash to the server because I also work in the food industry. This fraud is an awful feeling and they won't receive anymore business from me if they're going to keep helping themselves to my money. Management...

Food is AMAZING! So fresh! One of today’s specials -the grilled steak, chicken AND pork with grilled mushroom and onions and leeks AND beans and rice- was BEYOND delicious and it was only $19! We had take out but after reading the reviews about the delicious cocktails and entertainment (mariachi, magicians, etc) I hope to dine in next time (covid permitting). The only suggestion i would have is for the tortillas (from the tortilla soup) to be packed on the side rather than in the soup for take out orders because they were soggy by the time I got home. Since everything else was 100% perfect, I would be willing to bet that the chef just added the tortillas accidentally out of habit rather than intentionally. I will definitely...
