Golden House Restaurant — Restaurant in Bethesda

Golden House is an excellent Chinese delivery service and take-out restaurant. It is also great for lunch as their menu includes egg rolls, unlike the Bethesda competition for a lower price. In their delivery, they always arrive very quickly and the food is consistent. They also always bring napkins. :)

There is always plenty of parking right off of Rockville Pike. I like the house look of the restaurant, but it is too bad there is no dining area. A table or so would work pretty well in there. The restaurant is actually green, but I suppose calling it, "Green House" just wouldn't have that special ring to it. It gives the customer a feel of get-in, get-out.

I think the cashiers could be a little more engaging, but I think that's industry standard for Chinese restaurants to prioritize an effective product and timely service. In so doing, they more often seem to minimize the customer interaction. I always feel rushed, for example, when ordering. Your standard Chinese take-out spot. Not the best I've had in the DMV, but not bad in a pinch.

I have really grown to enjoy their lunch special. They give you a massive portion of rice, meat, and a spring roll for a very reasonable price. I like that the add pork into their fried rice too. Something differetnt that you don't get at every Chinese spot. Their Egg-Drop soup is also pretty good.

The staff there is always very quick and polite. Nothing over-the-top, but what you expect from a strickly take-out and delivery place.

Location is easy to walk to from around Bethesda if you're in town. I would not drive out of my way to get food here though. More of a conveniecnce stop. The store itself is pretty fun. Feels like you're in New York grabbing Lo-Mein until you walk back outside into the guilded and luxury-sedan-soaked world of downtown Bethesda.

I honestly can’t tell if people are being blackmailed into writing one-star reviews for this restaurant or if their experiences were just that bad, but I completely disagree with the low ratings! While Golden House Chinese Restaurant doesn’t offer indoor seating, they more than make up for it with their incredible food. I’ve been coming here for a long time, and it’s about time I left an honest review.

The food here is simply AMAZING. I’ve ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken several times, and every single time, I’ve been blown away by the flavor and quality. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.

If you’re looking for a quick bite that doesn’t compromise on taste, I highly recommend Golden House Chinese Restaurant. It’s easily one of my favorite spots to grab delicious Chinese food.
