This place has been on my list of must try’s for some time now. I’ve heard some wonderful things from locals about how wonderful the food is. They weren’t wrong- the food is absolutely delicious. The flavors and the quality of the sushi are definitely top tier. This place certainly has the potential to be one of my favorite neighborhood sushi spots.

However, what soured the experience and makes me hesitant to return was the abysmal service. Our server seated us and essentially forgot we were there. She took our order and conveniently disappeared for the remainder of the night. Didn’t even leave any sauce or condiments on the table for the upcoming meal. When she did manage to surface, we requested a drink on three different occasions and it never came. There was an even a point when our food didn’t come for more than half an hour, and not a single time did she check to see if the kitchen had remembered to make our order. We honestly thought she probably forgot to put the order in given that our drink never came. Mind you, the place seemed busy with to-go orders, but there were several empty tables and sections, so the dining room was not very busy.

The saving grace was this phenomenal server Thea (who was not even assigned to our section) noticing that we were basically being neglected. Her intuition was spot on - she noticed us silently fuming and restlessly waiting for service and immediately jumped to the rescue from her section in the back. Without hesitation, she asked us what we needed, filled our empty water glasses and made sure we got our requested drink. When she noticed we didn’t have sauce or ginger on the table, she promptly offered to get us some. Throughout the rest of the night Thea would come and check in on us frequently and let us know we could call her if we needed anything (meanwhile our original server was nowhere to be found). Later she noticed we were waiting even longer than usual for our food, and she gave the kitchen a gentle nudge (without being prompted or asked)- the food came within minutes after that.

Our server did end up making one final appearance to ask if “we were ok,” then promptly took our soy sauce away before the rest of food even came.

Ultimately, Thea came to rescue and saved us from just walking out. If we return, we would only go if she were our server.

Overall, lots of potential, food is incredible, but service could be...

This was my first time ever trying Presses Sushi, and what an interesting concept! While it had great flavor and I loved the fish, it fell apart and was more difficult to eat than regular sushi or cut rolls. I went with the Tuna Citrus ($19.50) because the server said it was one of their most popular from the pressed section. It had tuna, spicy albacore, gobo, jalapeño, and a small fresh lemon slice on top. Pressed sushi is something I recommend every sushi lover try at least once for the experience.

They have a variety of crispy rice options that range from $6-$15, and we went with the spicy tuna crispy rice for $8.50. It comes with two pieces and it’s absolutely amazing, a must order.

I loved the amount of truffle and yuzu on their menu. My favorite thing about Seabutter was that they had fresh wasabi available.

The name of the restaurant really threw me at first, but it was a great choice if you enjoy unique sushi.

For parking, I’d recommend dining after 6pm so that you can get free metered...

TLDR, don't waste your time, money, or taste buds here.

Food quality: 0/5. The fish is tasteless and watery. Definitely not fresh, nor the right color. The fish was slimy, transparent, and left an odd aftertaste. I was really confused at the quality for the premium prices that they charge. We left without eating most of the food as it was so disgusting and disappointing. This was worse than premade convenience store sushi.

Customer service: 1/5 Very slow, they didn't stand behind the quality of their food or have any understanding

I'm not sure how this place has so many great reviews, but its probably gone steeply downhill lately. We were ready to end the meal early and walk out, but the waitress would always leave so quickly that we wouldn't get a chance to communicate our issues with the food. By the time that we did get to speak to her it was too late and everything was already finished and came out. We ended up just paying the bill and left the food untouched as it...

The name surely speaks for the quality in the fish. The catch was impressive, expect quality in each cut. We sat at the bar and Frankie was informative and took us down a nice journey. The alcohol selection was spectacular although they were pushing the sale a little hard. Their pressed sushi with salmon was by far was the most memorable, don't leave without trying it out. Shishito peppers hit the spot. The hand rolls were a pleasant indulgence. The background music was rather annoying but the overall ambience and service made up for the flaring house music. I sometimes shake my head at restaurants that give you small bites of sushi that leave you hungry and broke, and this place is close to achieving that label (Beverly Hills tax or not). I'll be back to try the other pressed wonders.
