If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Below is my experience and email to Lynnet Rodriguez the hotels manager.
Good Afternoon Lynnet,
I am writing to express some of my concerns. My stay was cut short because of the following reasons. Inappropriate behavior from the staff Blood stained furniture ( pictures attached) Out of service elevator I booked this hotel in advance to recover from a surgery and was completely dissatisfied from the time of check-in to check-out. First off, my original room was unavailable due to the A/C unit not working, therefore the staff upgraded me to a King Suite which was not an upgrade in my eyes due to the fact the "second bed" was a blood stained couch for my guest to sleep on.
At the time of check-in your staff assured me they could bring ice to my room when needed for my recovery. The day of surgery my partner called for ice and was told by the same staff I had to get it myself. I had no energy to argue at this point because I was unable to talk, but was very upset because I had called prior to my booking and had asked the front desk about the amenities and services needed for my recovery, and was assured I had nothing to worry about and would be taken care of.
To top it off I paid the extra money for valet and was told by the valet on my first day I was more than welcome to come and go as I pleased with my car and charge it myself when needed. The night after my surgery my partner and I came back to the hotel and were parking to charge my car when one of the valet drivers started yelling and waving his arms at us in front of other guests ( which is embarrassing on its own). When my partner tried to explain to the valet what we were previously told, the valet continued to yell and scream at us infront of more guests.
Due to the circumstances I no longer felt comfortable finishing my stay and chose to recover elsewhere, which was a huge inconvenience for me! I was one day post-op coming off anesthesia barely able to function and was given one hour to pack all my belongings and leave to avoid extra charges. I would have expected more leeway from management to accommodate for all these inconveniences.
To say the least, I am beyond disappointed with my stay here and expected more for what I had paid. I will not pay to be yelled at by valet, stay in blood stained furniture and be belittled and lied to while in a defenslise state at time...
Read moreMy written review did not originally post so adding here:
Hotel location is great, and price wise in comparison to some other hotels in the vicinity it is reasonably good value for money.
However, having stayed at a couple of the other hotels in the area (Beverly Wilshire & Maybourne) there is no comparison in service - the Sixty does lack in certain areas but is half the price.
Rooms were cleaned daily, but each time there would be something forgotten inside the room (cleaning product or cloths) or other items missed such as not cleaning the cups, not disposing of trash or not replacing water, coffee etc.
The roof deck bar was supposedly a "must see", I agree it is stunning for the pool, views, and ambiance - but the food was average at best, and the service was atrocious. On two occasions after ordering drinks we waited 15-20 mins when there were not that many people on the roof area. It became apparent that there was a "private event" ongoing on the other side of the roof area on this day which may have explained the slow service but there was a bar manager who was outright rude and spoke to me in a very abrasive tone as I attempted to follow up on my drink order that i'd waited 15-20 mins already for - I was told to "get back behind the barrier as we have a private event ongoing!" and "I need you to stand that side of the barrier"... For context, the barrier was a small rope attached to two posts that was difficult to notice and I had crossed it by about 12 inches to ask where my drink was.
Following this, I immediately asked to settle the bill, paid in cash, and left immediately. It is also worth pointing out that these charges were then ALSO applied to the room bill upon check-out which was rectified by the front desk staff after I pointed this out and explained the above events.
We stayed for 12 nights at a cost in excess of $7,000 so we really did expect a better all around experience from this hotel aside from just its convenient location.
All in all, if you want a "reasonable value for money", convenient hotel with decent rooms (recommend the Wilshire Suites) then this place is ok... if you expect service levels anywhere approaching 5* hotels then this is not the place. A couple of the staff were friendly and accommodating but generally speaking the whole experience was below par with a couple of incidents to really put a...
Read moreI normally don’t take the time to document a review but this had to be said to ALL people contemplating a stay here at this hotel or shall I refer to this hotel as a motel.
First and foremost I called in advance to inform Abraham ( the reservationists) that I would be having surgery close by and I am looking for a comfortable, clean and reliable place. I told him I would need extra blankets, towels and a refrigerator to store ice temporarily and he hold me they would have everything ready. I searched for more than 20 places and this place seemed to have 4 stars and in a prime location of Beverly Hills. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
First of all when I arrived at the Sixty Beverly Hills Hotel, they did not have my requests taken care of and mine you, my surgery was the next day. I booked the room for 5 days from Abraham (a reservationist ) who told me since there is a pandemic, they couldn't clean beds daily but have to send clean sheets and towels. Unfortunately, not only did they never send us clean sheets, we called and requested ice, toilet paper and towels but our needs fell on deaf ears. Moreover, they had my fiancé leave the hotel room (when I needed 24 hr care) to pick up ice because they didn’t have any staff available per Rose Mary (the front desk clerk). She was rude on the phone and stated she was the only one there. Even more importantly, I am sensitive and understand the Covid pandemic and how strict employees need to be but this is why I called in advance. In addition, i work around Covid on a daily basis and don’t lose compassion and integrity at work despite these conditions. Moreover, I thought by paying more money and the Beverly Hills location that hospitality would kindness would be impeccable.
To conclude, I would never stay at the Sixty Beverly Hills hotel. The stay here is unprofessional, disrespectful and disheartening. My recovery has lasted longer due to the stress I’ve ensured here. I was unable to reach Michael, the hotel manager to voice my concerns and I’m even more disgusted that they used the pandemic to mask their unprofessionalism. My highly regarded doctor in Beverly Hills has made a note to defer all further patients to the. Beverly Hills...
