OUTRAGE , Humiliating, Racist Treatment at Starbucks Beverly Hills (Store #671-312) Date: September 18, 2025 To: Starbucks Corporate I am writing with absolute outrage and disgust over the humiliating and racist treatment I suffered this morning at your store located at 9049 Olympic Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211 (Store #671-312).
I have been a loyal Starbucks customer for years, but what happened today was beyond unacceptable , it was degrading, racist, and unforgivable.
I entered with my 2-year-old granddaughter, ordered a Venti Cappuccino and a Sausage, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich and a Apple Juice . My granddaughter began crying , as toddlers do. While I was on the phone with her mother to help calm her, one of your employees (the person working at the mobile orders counter, wearing thick black glasses) made rude, demeaning hand gestures, signaling me to silence my granddaughter. When I confronted him, he arrogantly claimed he was “just asking me to calm her down.” His excuse does not erase the public shaming, humiliation, and discriminatory intent of his behavior. I was singled out in front of a room of mostly white customers.
I have personally witnessed countless white children crying and screaming inside Starbucks stores, and NEVER have I seen a manager or employee confront those families. The only difference here? I am Latino. What happened to me was racism , blatant and ugly. This was not a misunderstanding. This was a deliberate act of humiliation and bigotry from a Starbucks employee abusing his position.
Starbucks claims to represent inclusion and respect. What I experienced was the exact opposite: hostility, bias, and open discrimination. I DEMAND: A full and immediate investigation. Disciplinary action against this employee (up to and including termination).
A formal written apology from Starbucks Corporate addressed to me and my granddaughter. Mandatory anti-bias and cultural sensitivity training for the entire staff at this store. If Starbucks thinks I will accept a generic response or empty corporate statement, think again. What happened was traumatizing, humiliating, and discriminatory, and I will escalate this complaint to civil rights organizations, the media, and community leaders if necessary. I expect a serious, written response from Starbucks Corporate without delay. Do not minimize this, your employee’s conduct was racist, offensive, and absolutely...
Read moreThis Starbucks has always been convenient, and I’ve been coming here for years. Unfortunately, I’m honestly disappointed in how rude and dismissive the staff can be. Over the years, I’ve witnessed multiple arguments and even fights break out between random strangers, and the way the staff handles these situations is concerning. Most recently, a conflict broke out between a grown adult and a minor. The teenager was simply minding her business, wearing a tank top and jeans, when an adult started harassing her and trying to pick a fight, cursing her out. Instead of stepping in or at least ensuring the teenager’s safety, the staff chose to serve the adult while refusing to take the teenager’s order. I understand employees can’t always “take sides,” but when it’s a child being cussed at and threatened by an adult, basic decency and responsibility should come into play. The manager handled the situation terribly, no support, no apology, no refund. Just rude, immature behavior. Sadly, this isn’t an isolated incident, I’ve seen similar things happen here before, even including stuff like people nearly getting into fist fights, AND STILL all the staff stood there as if it was nothing. Im not sure if this is some sort of policy but simply just trying to protect someone really isnt taking sides nor is it that hard to do. The teenager resulted in TEARS on the phone with her mother, as expected. Honestly disgusting. After years of giving this location chances, and giving them my money, I’m done. It’s unacceptable to stand by while a teenager is put at risk. SHAME on the manager for treating this as if...
Read moreI had my cell phone stolen here 20 minutes ago. I was freaking internally out but I didn't blame them or scream or even make a scene. I have never had this happen before at any Starbucks before in my life. This location is in Beverly Hills and I used to live in the neighborhood. I am so upset they didn't go out of their way to help me at least where security is concerned, all they did was give me a phone number to which I can't use because my PHONE WAS STOLEN. They didn't even offer to let me use their phones. I feel like they could have done more. I always enjoyed coming here, now this horrible experience has really wrecked my enjoyment. You have cameras in your facility that watch if people steal your property, how is this any different? My phone was near me and it was grabbed, this is just not right. I really want to give this place a decent review but I am so beyond upset and mad right now, I can't bare to give it a good score. Don't come here, the baristas could careless if anything gets stolen even if they can find...
