Spoleto Pizza and pasta — Restaurant in Beverly

I was looking for SOMETHING on a Sunday night on my way home from work. I figured i would see what Beverly had still open after 7:30. There were only a handful open and i saw Spoleto had 4.9 stars while everyone else was 4.3 and lower. I prefer to support mom and pop type places so i figured I would give it a try. There was only one customer at the counter and he is clearly a fan. I can see why. The store is clean and neat, each worker I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. When they brought out the pizza, it was so big it almost didn't fit in the box! I got the bacon cheeseburger pizza. I just tasted it and i must say the crust edges are perfection, and the pie itself is loaded with bacon, cheese and hamburger. I am going to definitely be back to try the chicken parm sandwich and a couple of the other pizza and calzone options! Definitely a great...

Any last-minute decision we decided to do takeout pizzas the day before Thanksgiving. We chose this place because of the good ratings and the photos of the pizza toppings. Little did we know that the crust was going to be subpar. A shameful example of what a pizza crust is supposed to be. It essentially was a pre-pressed, pre-fabricated crust that was not unlike the cardboard box. We were clearly short changed on toppings. For example, the eggplant pizza had like one or two little pieces of eggplant per slice. We will definitely not go back. I guess, for people who have no pallet or don’t know any better. The pizza gave me mixed feelings. I never wright reviews, but felt this was needed to say. The ingredients seemed like good quality and the sauce was decent, but the crust was disgustingly chewy it had punch holes (similar to a golf green being aerated) which screams store bought pre-made and pre-shaped and was very chewy like a bad grocery store frozen pizza. Ordered a pizza w/ added portabello mushrooms and one fell off so I ate it alone and the only flavor I tasted was sweet wine wine (no mushroom flavor at all) so it was cooked in too much wine.
